Dendritic Cell Therapy for Brain Metastases From Breast- or Lung Cancer

The study will use an Ommaya reservoir that drains into brain metastases to deliver activated, autolous dendritic cells to the tumor lesion, for patients who are 18 - 75 years old who have brain metastases from either lung cancer or breast cancer. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and feasibility of administering DCVax-Direct to patients with metastatic tumors in the brain. The secondary objectives are to determine tumor response, the rate of intracranial recurrence (IR), the rate of neurologic deaths, decline in neuro-cognitive functioning and overall survival. Approximately 10 patients with injectable metastatic brain tumors will be enrolled initially in a dose escalation scheme, with the expectation to enroll a total of 24 patients.

Anlotinib is a multi-target receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor in domestic research and development. It can inhibit the angiogenesis related kinase, such as VEGFR, FGFR, PDGFR, and tumor cell proliferation related kinase -c-Kit kinase. In the phase Ⅲ study, patients who failed at least two kinds of systemic chemotherapy (third line or beyond) or drug intolerance were treated with anlotinib or placebo, the anlotinib group PFS and OS were 5.37 months and 9.63 months, the placebo group PFS and OS were 1.4 months and 6.3 months. Therefore,we envisage using anlotinib plus docetaxel treat the EGFR wild-type advanced Non-small cell lung cancer patients who were failure in the treatment of chemotherapy with platinum containing drugs, to further improve the patient's PFS or OS.

There is as yet no optimal treatment regimen for patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene wild type non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) . Icotinib is a new type of small molecule EGFR TKI, developed and patented by Zhejiang BetaPharma Co., Ltd.(Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, Patent No. WO2003082830). It has the similar anti-tumor activity with gefitinib, erlotinib. Pre-clinical studies showed icotinib could significantly inhibit the EGFR tyrosine kinase activity. Notably, anti-tumor activities were observed in patients with advanced NSCLC. In this study, we will evaluate the efficiency of intermittent high dose of Icotinib in combination with Docetaxel as second-line treatment for NSCLC patients with wild type EGFR. The overall response rate(ORR),progression free survival(PFS) ,overall survival(OS) and health related quality of life(HRQoL) will be monitored.

Treatment of Early Stage Lung Cancer by VATS Versus OPEN Lobectomy

In patients with early stage lung cancer surgical lobectomy is the treatment of choice. A resection by Video-assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) is probably superior to an open procedure by thoracotomy for patients with early stage lung cancer, but randomized evidence for superiority is lacking. Furthermore, VATS lobectomy has not gained broad implementation yet. The objective of this study is to assess the benefits of VATS- over open lobectomy regarding quality of life and costs in a prospective randomized controlled multicenter trial. All patients meeting the inclusion criteria that are not randomized will be included in a prospective Cohort.

Rh-Endostatin in Combination With Icotinib for Advanced NSCLC With EGFR Mutations

This single-arm pilot study tries to invesitgate how well giving icotinib with rh-endostatin (Endostar®) works in treating patients with advanced stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) activating mutations. Icotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Anti-angiogeneiss drug, such as rh-endostatin, can block tumor growth by inhibiting the ability of tumors to grow new blood vessels and spread. It is not yet known whether icotinib is more effective when given with rh-endostatin in NSCLC patients with EGFR activating mutations.
