Monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may find tumor cells and help carry tumor-killing substances to them. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving pembrolizumab and paricalcitol with or without chemotherapy before surgery may help to control the disease.
Mistletoe Therapy in Primary and Recurrent Inoperable Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic CancerIn this study a mistletoe preparation (Iscador Qu) is added to standard therapy in inoperable pancreatic cancer in order to evaluate effect on overall survival and health-related quality of life. Half of participants will take subcutaneous injections with mistletoe in addition to standard therapy (palliative chemotherapy or best supportive care); the other half will receive a placebo and standard therapy.
