Multiple MyelomaImpaired Renal FunctionThe purpose of this study is to determine the pharmacokinetic profile of Revlimid® in patients presenting with Multiple Myeloma and impaired renal function, the safety of Revlimid® in the enrolled patients population. and evaluate the efficacy of Revlimid®-Dexamethasone combination in patients presenting MM and impaired renal function at completion of 3 cycles of treatment.
Ondansetron in Preventing Nausea and Vomiting in Patients Undergoing Stem Cell Transplant
Accelerated Phase Chronic Myelogenous LeukemiaAdult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission104 moreRATIONALE: Ondansetron may help lessen or prevent nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well ondansetron works in preventing nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing stem cell transplant.
Rasburicase in Preventing Graft-Versus-Host Disease in Patients With Hematologic Cancer or Other...
Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersGraft Versus Host Disease5 moreRATIONALE: Rasburicase may be an effective treatment for graft-versus-host disease caused by a donor stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well rasburicase works in preventing graft-versus-host disease in patients with hematologic cancer or other disease undergoing donor stem cell transplant.
Effects of Exercise in Combination With Epoetin Alfa
Multiple MyelomaThe purpose of the study was to determine the effect of Epoetin alfa therapy (short term versus long term) with and without a home-based individualized exercise program that incorporated aerobic and strength resistance training for patients being treated with high-dose chemotherapy and autologous peripheral bloodstem cell transplantation (PBSC T) for multiple myeloma. The endpoints for the study included the number of attempts at and total number of days of stem cell collection, number of RBC and platelet transfusions during the transplantation period, time-to-recovery after transplantation, and response to intensive therapy for multiple myeloma.
Darbepoetin Alfa With or Without Iron in Treating Anemia Caused By Chemotherapy in Patients With...
AnemiaLeukemia6 moreRATIONALE: Darbepoetin alfa may cause the body to make more red blood cells. Red blood cells contain iron that is needed to carry oxygen to the tissues. It is not yet known whether giving darbepoetin alfa (DA) together with intravenous iron or oral iron is more effective than giving darbepoetin alfa together with a placebo in treating anemia caused by chemotherapy. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying giving darbepoetin alfa together with iron to see how well it works compared with giving darbepoetin alfa together with a placebo in treating anemia caused by chemotherapy in patients with cancer.
American Ginseng in Treating Patients With Fatigue Caused by Cancer
Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersFatigue9 moreRATIONALE: American ginseng may reduce fatigue in patients with cancer. It is not yet known whether American ginseng is more effective than a placebo in treating cancer-related fatigue. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying American ginseng to see how well it works in treating patients with fatigue caused by cancer.
Measuring Changes in Blood in Patients at High Risk of Cytomegalovirus Infection After Undergoing...
Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersLeukemia5 moreRATIONALE: Tests that measure certain changes in blood in patients at high risk of cytomegalovirus infection may help doctors learn more about predicting cytomegalovirus infection after donor stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying tests that measure changes in the blood in patients at high risk of cytomegalovirus infection after undergoing donor bone marrow transplant or peripheral stem cell transplant.
Epoetin Alfa in Treating Anemia in Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy for Multiple Myeloma
AnemiaMultiple Myeloma1 moreRATIONALE: Epoetin alfa may cause the body to make more red blood cells. It is used to treat anemia in patients with multiple myeloma. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well epoetin alfa works in treating anemia in patients undergoing chemotherapy for multiple myeloma.
Lithium Carbonate in Treating Patients With Acute Intestinal Graft-Versus-Host-Disease (GVHD) After...
Accelerated Phase Chronic Myelogenous LeukemiaAdult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission114 moreRATIONALE: Lithium carbonate may be an effective treatment for intestinal graft-versus-host disease caused by a donor stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying lithium carbonate in treating patients with acute intestinal graft-versus-host-disease after donor stem cell transplant.
Epoetin Alfa or Darbepoetin Alfa in Treating Patients With Anemia Caused by Chemotherapy
AnemiaLeukemia6 moreRATIONALE: Epoetin alfa and darbepoetin alfa may cause the body to make more red blood cells. They are used to treat anemia caused by chemotherapy in patients with cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying four different schedules of epoetin alfa or darbepoetin alfa to compare how well they work in treating patients with anemia caused by chemotherapy.
