Precarious Elderly Patient Supported For Cancer Impact on Quality Of Life of a Domotic And Remote...
ElderlyLocally Advanced or Metastatic CancerThe objective of the PREDOMOS study is to evaluate the impact of establishing a Program of geriatric and Social intervention associated techniques of Domotic and Remote assistance (PS-DR) on the improvement of quality of life of elderly patients, isolated or at risk of isolation, treated for locally advanced or metastatic cancer.
A Cohort Study of Beta-Glucan or Beta-Glucan Compound in Metastatic Cancers
Metastatic CancerChemotherapyImmunity of cancer patients is an important issue. According to cancer immunity, it can be divided into three phases: clearance phase, equilibrium phase, and escape phase (cancer cells can avoid the recognition of immune cells). Βeta-glucans is extracted from yeast, it can increase immune function and drive of hematopoietic stem cells in animals and clinical trials. Glutamine can increase the repair of oral and intestinal mucosa of patients receiving chemical and radiation therapy and can increase the lymphocytes of patients. Colostrum contains IgA, IgG, IgM, etc., known to protect the baby Cancer patients who are infected with intestinal bacteria and undergo systemic chemotherapy are less immune than normal adults. Investigators will compare β-glucan, glutamine, and colostrum immunoglobulin powder with β-glucan and control group, each group has 30 people, and observe the side effects and blood of patients under standard chemotherapy. The performance of the immune system, such as helpers and cytotoxic T cells and NK cells, and to observe the differences in treatment interruption or delay rates and treatment rates.
The Role of Tumor-associated Macrophages in Colorectal Liver Metastases
Colorectal Liver MetastasesColorectal Cancer2 moreColorectal cancer is a major cause of mortality worldwide. Most patients develop colorectal liver metastases (CLM), and for such patients hepatectomy combined with chemotherapy may be curative. Nevertheless, in the era of precision medicine there is a critical need of prognostic markers to cope with the heterogeneity of CLM patients. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) pave the way to tissue invasion and intravasation providing a nurturing microenvironment formetastases. The quantification of immune landscape of tumors has provided novel prognostic indicators of cancer progression, and the quantification of TAMs might explain the heterogeneity of CLM patients. Here, we will investigate the development of a new diagnostic tool based on TAMs with the aim to define the causative role of TAMs in CLM patients. This will open new clinical scenarios both for the diagnosis, therapy and prognosis, leading to the refinement of the therapeutic output in a personalized medicine perspective.
NaF PET/MRI Evaluation for Bone Metastases in Breast Cancer
Malignant Neoplasm of Breast TNM Staging Distant Metastasis (M)Untreated Bone MetastasesThis study will look at two new technologies being developed for measuring cancer in bones. One of these technologies is a substance called Sodium Fluoride (NaF). Fluoride is a normal body substance. The amount that patients will receive has been shown to be very safe. One study of over 400 patients showed no adverse reactions after receiving the recommended dosage. NaF (known as a radiotracer) is taken up into the bones under a normal process and researchers can measure the amount within patient's bones through an imaging system called a Positron Emission Tomography/Magnetic Resonance Imaging (PET/MRI). This system combines aspects of both a PET study as part of the regular standard of care and an MRI study. The belief is that the combination of these two studies will be better than either study alone.People who have enrolled in this study will receive their clinically requested PET/CT scan as part of their normal diagnostic care and will follow all the said recommendations for this study such as not being pregnant, having fasted overnight, etc. Subjects will return within 7 days for a 10 mCi NaF PET/MRI study. The patients' imaging time will be up to 120 minutes depending on the MRI sequences acquired. Imaging for the PET portion of the study will take approximately 20-30 minutes with the rest of the time devoted to MRI sequences.
Secondary Cancer Risk After Radiation Therapy for Rectal Cancer
NeoplasmsSecond PrimaryRetrospective study comparing dose distribution of 3D conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) to estimate secondary cancer risk for patients having had radiation therapy for rectal cancer. Twenty-five patients are included in this study. Planning CT scans are used for comparison of dose distribution and calculation of second cancer risk.
Second Primary Cancers in Patients With Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer
Prostatic NeoplasmsThis study aims at estimating the incidence of second primary malignancies as well as the overall survival among metastasized prostate cancer (mPC) and metastasized castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) patients not treated with radium-223-dichloride.
Measurement and Characterization of Circulating Endothelial Cells or Circulating Tumor Cells or...
Metastatic CancerMonitoring of circulating endothelial cells (CEC and mature cells called progenitors called CEP) or circulating tumor cells (CTC) in adult patients with metastatic cancer, possibly treated with targeted therapy.
4D PET/CT in Diagnosing Participants With Lung and Colorectal Cancer With Liver and Lung Metastasis...
Metastatic Malignant Neoplasm in the LiverMetastatic Malignant Neoplasm in the Lung7 moreThis trial studies how well 4 dimensional (D) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) works in diagnosing participants with lung or colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver and lung. Diagnostic procedures, such as PET/CT, may help find and diagnose disease and find out how far the disease has spread. But the motions made by breathing can reduce the image quality of the scan. Adjusting the scanner to 4D may allow for more breathing motion may improve the quality of the PET/CT images.
COVID-19 Vaccine Efficacy in Patients With Malignant Pathologies
Solid TumorHematologic Malignancy4 moreIn the context of malignant disease, it is likely that vaccine efficacy and immunogenicity depends on the type of pathology, stage of the disease, immunosuppression induced by the treatments, in addition to more classic factors such as age, general condition and possibly the type of vaccine used. There are very little data on the efficacy and immunogenicity of anti-severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccines in patients with malignant disease in the active phase of treatment. This multicenter observational study aims to assess the efficacy and the immunogenicity of anti-Sars-CoV-2 vaccines in the cohort of patients treated for malignant pathology (solid or hematological tumors) at Saint Louis Hospital and in thoracic oncology patients at Bichat Hospital.
Molecular Profiling of Metastatic Cancer in Pleural Effusion and Ascites
Metastatic CancerCancers are among the most frequent leading causes of death in Taiwan, and many of them show their respective unique epidemiological and pathophysiological features in Taiwanese population. One of the distinguishing features of cancers includes their potential to metastasize outside the primary tumor. Pleural cavity and peritoneum are two of the most frequent sites of metastases when serosal surfaces are involved. The prognoses of such patients are extremely poor with a median survival of months. The understandings of cancer biology of tumor metastasis demand more in-depth studies at the molecular and cell levels. Studies based on cell culture are excellent approaches for this purpose as the cell culture provides a relevant and renewable model for studying the pathological and molecular changes underlying human malignant tumors.
