This study is a randomized controlled trial, assessing the effect of a single platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection in post traumatic (concussive) greater occipital neuralgia. This study will compare the effects of a single PRP injection to injection with steroid and anesthetic. There will also be a third arm to the study, in which patients will receive an injection with normal saline. This study will assess the severity and frequency of headache symptoms before and after receiving the injection.

Several studies have implicated involvement of sigma-1 receptors (SR1s) in the generation of chronic pain, while others are investigating anti SR1 drugs for treatment of chronic pain. Using [18F]-FTC-146 and positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI), the investigators hope to identify the source of pain generation in patients with chronic pain. The purpose of this study is to compare the uptake of [18F]FTC-146 in healthy volunteers to that of individuals suffering from chronic pain.

The goal of this pilot trial is to test whether scrambler therapy (ST) is an effective treatment for neuropathic pain in patients with corticobasal syndrome (CBS). The main question it aims to answer is: Will ST reduce pain scores by at least 33% at one month in this pilot trial, justifying further multi-center trials? Participants will: be randomly assigned treatment from either transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) or ST for pain initially (eventually all patients will receive ST). have superficial electrocardiogram (ECG) electrodes placed on the dermatomes involved with pain obtain treatment lasting 30-40 minutes or until pain relief is obtained Researchers will compare patient's response to pain relief with TENS and ST to determine if ST is an effective treatment for central neuropathic pain.

Analgesic Effectiveness of Capsaicin 8% Cutaneous Patch in Children

Neuropathic PainChronic Pain

This study concerns children aged to 12 to 17-years with local chronic neuropathic pain after trauma or surgery. It is a multicentric randomized controlled superiority trial in parallel arms : experimental arm: Capsaicin 8% cutaneous patch controlled arm : Hydrocolloid dressing Treatment with capsaicin application is realized at baseline, and repeated 3 months after the first patch application if needed. Tolerance is assessed during each application and by phone call in following days until stop of cold need. Efficacy is assessed monthly by clinical consultation until the end of the study (month 4).
