Malnutrition is seen frequently in hemodialysis units in most developing countries. Malnutrition increases morbidity and mortality in this population and its treatment improves patient survival and health status The purpose of this study is to compare two strategies to improve nutritional status in hemodialysis patients: renal-specific oral supplement (237 ml) versus egg albumin-based protein supplement (30 g) on a daily basis. This trial uses the Malnutrition Inflammation Score (MIS) and Subjective Global Assessment (SGA) in addition to most used biochemical markers to determine nutritional status.

This study will determine if an education program about hygiene and child feeding practices, taught by local village community health workers, will improve child growth and decrease the prevalence of childhood malnutrition in a rural region of Kenya.

The hypothesis for the study is that 12 months of a Ready-To-Use Supplementary Food (RUSF) distributions have a greater impact on children's health than the standard RUSF distributions during the hunger gap period (june to september). We estimated that the 12 month RUSF will decrease the incidence of severe acute malnutrition by 33% compared to an administration only during the hunger gap period (4 month a year).

The objective of this study is to compare the rate and extent of absorption of bicalutamide 50 mg tablet (test) versus Casodex® (reference), administered as 1 x 50 mg tablet under fed conditions.

The purpose of this study is to compare standardized nutrition therapy provided by a registered dietitian (RD) at regularly scheduled intervals to usual care in terms of the ability to improve growth parameters in medically complex infants in the pediatric outpatient setting.

Prospective observational follow-up of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) survivors on the adequacy of nutritional therapy: what is the mean caloric and nitrogen intake and how does their metabolic profile evolve over time? Is supplemental nutrition, in any forms, indicated to fill the caloric and protein gap? Would IV access be a barrier for SPN, and would subcutaneous parenteral nutrition be welcomed by health care practitioners and patients? Are patient centered outcomes (physical function, quality of life, performance in activities of daily living) correlated with nutritional adequacy and metabolic profile? Overall: are ICU survivors well fed after they leave ICU until hospital discharge? What kind of nutrition would possibly be useful to optimize the intake? How do their energy and protein requirements evolve? What is the physical and mental status of ICU survivors and is this correlated with nutritional status?

The purpose of the proposed study is twofold: 1) The investigators will evaluate ultrasound imaging to screen trauma patients to identify patients at increased risk of postoperative complications associated with sarcopenia. 2) The investigators will evaluate a commercially-available oral nutritional supplement that has previously been evaluated in critically-ill intensive care patients and shown benefit for decreasing complications including decreased wound healing complications, decreased pressure ulcers, decreased skeletal muscle loss due to immobilization, and decreased one-year mortality.

There is a growing number of patients undergoing bariatric surgery requiring lifelong follow-up. BagEL (Bariatric Patients in Primary Care: Post-operative Nutrition and Lifestyle Management) is a survey to evaluate a newly developed structured disease management program including nutrition and lifestyle management in primary care.

The goal of this study is to gather data on the tolerance and acceptability of a new ONS (ESj-powder complete) in children currently taking ONS.
