To Evaluate the Long-term Safety of (R,R)-Formoterol in Subjects With COPD
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseChronic Bronchitis1 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine the long-term safety of arformoterol over a period of 12 months in subjects with COPD
Advair® DISKUS® Versus Serevent® DISKUS® For Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Exacerbations...
Pulmonary DiseaseChronic ObstructiveThis study evaluates the effect of two medicines on COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) exacerbations. This study will last up to 56 weeks, and subjects will visit the clinic 10 times. Subjects will be given breathing tests and will record their breathing symptoms daily on diary cards. All study related medicines and medical examinations will be provided at no cost. The two drugs used in this study have been approved by FDA for use in patients with COPD.
Efficacy of Osteopathic Manipulation in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
EmphysemaThe purpose of this study is to determine if osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) is effective for persons with emphysema as a component of their chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Clinical Study of Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB)
Lung DiseasesLung Diseases2 moreTo evaluate the efficacy of long-term intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB) treatment when used as an adjunct to the overall care of ambulatory outpatients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The evaluation compared the use of IPPB with use of a powered nebulizer.
Cost-Effectiveness of Lung Volume Reduction Surgery
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseEmphysemaLung volume reduction surgery (LVRS) has been advanced as a therapy to significantly improve quality of life in patients with COPD, but to date no controlled studies have evaluated the impact of LVRS.
Investigating the Effect of Nasal High Flow Oxygen Therapy on Regional Lung Function
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseNasal High Flow1 moreThis study aims to assess the effect of nasal high flow oxygen therapy on regional function measured by volumetric computed tomography, in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Icing and Airflow Stimulation in Obstructive Lung Diseases
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseA randomized controlled trial in which icing and airflow stimulation for reduction of dyspnea in patients of obstructive lung disease was done which is characterized as condition of infection described by constant improvement of perpetual constraint of flow of air that is partially reversible and incorporates chronic bronchitis, emphysema and small airway diseases . The tools used were RR, Spirometry, Saturation, Borg Scale, MRC scale, shuttle walk test and St George's Respiratory Questionnaire (St.GRQ) score. Pulse oximeter measured the saturation levels and respiratory rates were alse observed. Borg scale measured rate of perceived exertion ranges from 6(easy physical activity) and 20(worst activity) and MRC measure dyspnea levels. In St.GRQ score between 1 to 8 is symptoms related and 9 to 17 was activity related.Literature review indicate that icing and airflow stimulation reduce dyspnea in patients of obstructive lung diseases.
Study to Evaluate Tezepelumab on Airway Inflammation in Adults With Uncontrolled Asthma (CASCADE)...
AsthmaBronchial Diseases9 moreA phase 2, multicentre, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study to evaluate the effect of tezepelumab on airway inflammation in adults with inadequately controlled asthma.
Evaluation of CO2 Rebreathing During Exercise With the Increasing Ventilation Assisted by NIV With...
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseVentilated by a single-limb tubing with PEV caused CO2 rebreathing to COPD patients during exercise with the increasing ventilation. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether CO2 rebreathing could be avoided with the use of the dual-limb circuit, to provide a theoretical basis of more rational clinical application of NIV in the setting of increasing ventilation(eg, after exercise).
Assessment of the Effects of Strenght Exercise With Active Video Game Games in Asthmatic Children...
Pulmonary DiseasesObstructive1 moreAsthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the Airways of recurring character. The obstruction to the airflow carries the short-and long-term consequences that require prophylactic interventions and in emergency many times. The children due to immaturity of the respiratory system associated with the use of steroids suffer structural consequences, as for example, the physical deconditioning that intensifies the symptoms of the disease and affects negatively on the quality of life. Therefore, to set up a physical training program suitable for the paediatric population, using resources to increase adherence to the regular practice of exercises, can be the difference for the reduction of the number of exacerbations, the sensation of Dyspnea and the doses of medication, positively impacting the clinical picture of child asthmatic. The investigators conducted a randomized, blinded in order to evaluate the effects of training with active video game associated with resisted exercise the exercise in inflammatory and functional outcomes resisted in asthmatic children.
