Electromagnetic Navigation System Versus Freehand Technique in Total Hip Arthroplasty
Hip OsteoarthritisA prospective randomized study comparing accuracy and precision of acetabular component placement in total hip arthroplasty with use of novel electromagnetic navigation system versus freehand technique.
Comparison of the Effect of Intra Articular Steroid Injection and Pericapsular Nerve Group Block...
Hip OsteoarthritisThe most common cause of hip joint dysfunction in the elderly is degenerative osteoarthritis of the hip. Innervation of the hip joint capsule is provided by the obturator nerve, the accessory obturator nerve, and the femoral nerve. With pericapsular nerve group block (PENG), by blocking the femoral nerve and the accessory obturator nerve, analgesia is successfully provided for the hip joint. Intra-articular injection of corticosteroids; It is used as an alternative to surgical interventions because it reduces inflammation and short-term pain and is a minimally invasive method. The investigators aim to compare and report patients who underwent ultrasound-guided intra-articular steroid injection and PENG block in terms of post-procedural pain scores and patient satisfaction.
Shoe Lifts for Leg Length Inequality in Adults With Knee or Hip Symptoms
Leg Length InequalityOsteoarthritis3 moreLimb length inequality is when a person has one leg that is longer than the other. This research will look at correcting limb length inequality in adults with knee or hip symptoms. This study will examine whether ways of measuring leg length inequality in the clinic are valid and reliable, determine whether foot posture (flat foot, normal, and high arch) is related to leg length inequality, and determine whether shoe lifts are a helpful treatment for leg length inequality and knee/hip symptoms.
10 Year Clinical Evaluation of Primoris Hip Component
CoxarthrosisUsing the traditional and hitherto used uncemented hip prostheses achieved good clinical results, but one of the drawbacks is the risk of fracture in the femoral shaft in indbankning of the prosthesis (1-2%). In addition, the bone scan demonstrated that in the years after surgery dropped almost 30% of bone mass in the femoral shaft. This bone loss increases the risk that in the years after surgery, the increased risk of fractures around the prosthesis and in addition to impeding the described bone replacement prosthesis later. The newly developed prosthesis is anchored in the femoral neck and thus not involve the femoral shaft. This ensures a more physiological or normal weight transfer to the femur bone. This contributes to bone mass in long large extent preserved in the years after surgery, so you have a better opportunity later to make a new prosthesis surgery with good results. The new prosthesis should be capable of simultaneously reducing the incidence of thigh pain in the first year after surgery.'
Galileo-Hip Whole Body Vibration /Conventional Physiotherapy /Coxarthrosis
CoxarthrosisOsteoarthritis (OA) is the most common degenerative arthropathy. Load-bearing joints such as knee and hip are more often affected than spine or hands. The prevalence of gonarthrosis is generally higher than that of coxarthrosis. Because no cure for OA exists, the main emphasis of therapy is analgesic treatment through either mobility or medication. Non-pharmacologic treatment is the first step, followed by the addition of analgesic medication, and ultimately by surgery. The goal of non-pharmacologic and non-invasive therapy is to improve neuromuscular function, which in turn both prevents formation of and delays progression of OA. A modification of conventional physiotherapy, whole body vibration has been successfully employed for several years. Since its introduction, this therapy is in wide use at our facility not only for gonarthrosis, but also coxarthrosis and other diseases leading to muscular imbalance.
Efficacy of Aquamantys for Reducing Transfusions With Anterior Supine Intermuscular Approach Total...
OsteoarthritisHip7 moreThe purpose of this study is to establish whether or not there is a clinical advantage to the use of Aquamantys® System from Medtronic Advanced Energy (formerly Salient Surgical Technologies) in patients undergoing primary total hip arthroplasty via the anterior supine intermuscular surgical approach in terms of blood loss, transfusion and wound healing. Wound healing will be assessed by a blinded observer and based upon a simple and subjective criteria: a) as expected, b) better than expected or c) worse than expected. The blinded observer is experienced in the care of the surgical patient and wound evaluation.
Comparison of Two Cementing Techniques of the Femoral Component in a Hip Prosthesis
OsteoarthritisHipThe primary aim of the study is to compare migration of the cemented Corail stem representing polished surfaced versions of the femoral stem. Two different methods will be used for reaming the femoral canal and cementing of the stem. Radiostereometric analysis (RSA) will be used in migration measurements. Furthermore pain, postoperative outcome and patient satisfaction will be assessed.
Evaluation of Functional Rehabilitation in Patients Undergoing Physiotherapy After Total Hip Arthroplasty...
OsteoarthritisHipThis study aims to objectively evaluate the implications of physiotherapeutic rehabilitation in the Assistance Protocol of Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA), by assessing the motor performance and testing the quality of life of patients undergoing THA surgery, to improve rehabilitation strategies for this population.
Benefit of Orthopedic Navigation in the ARThroplasty of the Hip
OsteoarthritisHip3 moreThis study was initiated to investigate the impact of the computer based image free navigation on the precision of the cup implantation. The implantation of the acetabular component (cup) is known to be a critical step in hip endoprosthetics. The cup position influences significantly the function, the absence of pain and the longevity of the artificial hip joint. The image free navigation system OrthoPilot is used to control the positioning of the cup during surgery.
The Use of Barbed Sutures in Total Hip Arthroplasty
OsteoarthritisHipThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of new barbed suture for closure of wound during total hip arthroplasty in reducing the risk for wound healing problems.
