An Analysis of Potential Sex Differences in Knee Osteoarthritis
Degenerative Joint DiseaseOsteoarthritisThis pilot study will use tissues and fluids that are normally discarded during the course of total knee replacement surgery to investigate potential sex differences in knee osteoarthritis. Basic clinical demographic information will be obtained as well as preoperative functional and pain assessment scores, functional tests, and pressure pain threshold measurement. The purpose of the study will be to investigate if any sex differences can be identified in these tissues and to investigate if there appears to be any relationship between these differences and functional scores and tests.
Effects of Glucosamine and Chondroitin Supplementation in Women With Knee Osteoarthritis Participating...
Knee OsteoarthritisBackground: Exercise, weight loss, and dietary supplementation of glucosamine and chondroitin (GC) have been reported to improve functional capacity in individuals with knee osteoarthritis (OA). The purpose of this study was 1.) to determine whether women with knee OA who follow a higher protein diet observe more favorable changes in body composition and/or markers of health compared to those following a standard higher carbohydrate-based diet; and, 2.) to determine whether dietary supplementation of glucosamine and chondroitin during a weight loss and fitness program lessens symptoms of pain, improves functional capacity, and/or promotes greater health benefits in women with knee OA. It was hypothesized that both groups would experience beneficial changes in body mass, body composition, and markers of health. However, greater benefits would be observed in those following a higher protein diet while supplementing the diet with glucosamine and chondroitin.
Treatment of Medial Compartmental Osteoarthritis Grade 1-4 With TomoFix™ Small or Conservatively...
OsteoarthritisKnee1 moreThe primary objective of this prospective multicenter study is to assess whether the functional outcome measured with the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) for patients with medial unicompartmental osteoarthritis and osteonecrosis of the knee treated with open wedge high tibial osteotomy (HTO) using the TomoFix™ Small is better than the functional outcome after conservative treatment.
HKT-500-US12 In Adult Patients With OA Knee Pain
OsteoarthritisKneeThe objective of this study is to characterize the analgesic properties of single dose study of HKT-500 in subjects with pain caused by mild to moderate OA of the knee
Prospective Post Market Clinical Follow-Up of the Primary Knee Endoprosthesis BPK-S Integration...
OsteoarthritisKnee1 moreProspective, monocenter post market clinical follow-up of a primary knee replacement bearing the CE-mark. 200 subjects will be recruited and followed up for up to ten years or until revision of the primary knee endoprosthesis, whichever occurs first. Documentation of clinical and radiological parameters within the clinical routine pre-operative and post-operative at 3 and 12 months and 2, 5 and 10 years to evaluate time to revision, pain situation, knee functionality, mobility and stability.
MOTO Post-marketing Surveillance Study
OsteonecrosisOsteo Arthritis KneeThe prospective, multicentric, observational study has the aims to monitor the performance of the MOTO medial unicompartmental knee system in the treatment of patients with knee disease requiring a UKA. 150 patients will be recruited in 18 months and will be reviewed until 5 years follow-up visit after surgery. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the prosthesis survival at 5 years.

Osteoarthritis of the KneeThis study is designed to observe the long term clinical outcomes of patient-specific knee arthroplasty in patients with osteoarthritis.
Hip and Knee Scoring System to Predict Complication Rate and Candidacy for Total Hip and Knee Arthroplasty...
OsteoarthritisKnee2 moreThis study is a prospective validation study of a new hip and knee replacement-specific questionnaire that can be used to predict postoperative complications. The purpose of this study is to confirm the validity of a new hip and knee scoring system to be used as a clinical tool to predict potential complication rates in patients undergoing total hip or knee replacement surgery. This scoring system aims to stratify patients into specific risk categories based a standardized calculated score. Patients will be evaluated on health risk factors and severity of disease on radiographic imaging prior to surgery, associated to higher complication rates following surgery. The hopeful anticipated result of this study is a prospective validation of the scoring system with both statistical and clinical significance in predicting postoperative complication rates in patients with moderate to high health risk, This stratification system may prove meaningful by allowing these patients, especially those classified as High-Risk, to be incorporated into more appropriate healthcare bundle payment systems that account for their higher financial demands. Furthermore, the stratification may allow for preoperative counseling and a shift towards non-operative management, or surgeon-patient conversations regarding the need to modify a portion of their objective risks prior to surgical intervention. Predictive risk models such as the one presented in the current study will be essential tools as the number of total hip arthroplasty procedures performed each year continue to increase and both the numbers of procedures and associated complications impose a significant cost on the U.S. healthcare system.
A Study to Evaluate the Conformis iTotal Identity Knee Replacement System
OsteoarthritisKneeThis is a prospective multicenter study located in the United States. Subjects will be implanted with an iTotal Identity Knee Replacement System and followed for 10 years post implantation.
Persona MC vs Attune Total Knee Replacement Study
Knee OsteoarthritisThis study aims to compare clinical and functional outcomes of a cohort of patients that have undergone a medial congruent TKR to a similar cohort of patients that have undergone a conventional TKR and a cohort of control participants. Our null hypothesis is that there will be no difference in the functional outcome (as assessed by gait analysis) between Attune and Persona MC TKR.
