The Effect of Different Macronutrients on Gastrointestinal Hormone Secretion After Gastric Bypass...

Bariatric Surgery (Gastric Bypass)Overweight

The purpose of this study is to determine the type of macronutrient (carbohydrate, lipid or protein) that most potently stimulates the endogen secretion of different gut hormones (primary outcome = Glucagon-Like peptide-1) in gastric bypass operated patients. The study also includes a comparison of the secretion of gut hormones after oral intake of lipid with or without a pancreatic lipase inhibitor.

A to Z Study Follow-up: Collection of DNA Data From Buccal Swabs

Weight ManagementDiet Conditions3 more

The goal of this study is to determine the association between genotypes and diet. The weight and weight loss data are already available from the previously completed study called: A to Z Study - Benefits and Risks of Alternative Weight Loss Strategies - A Clinical Trial, which was performed from 2003-2005 at Stanford University. In the present study, Interleukin Genetics will obtain DNA samples from the previously enrolled study subjects to investigate genetic influence of the response to macronutrient compositions of low caloric diets to weight loss.

Evaluation of EarlySense; a Contact-less Heart and Respiration Rate Monitoring in Sleep Lap Examined...

Over WeightSleep Disorders

The objective of this study is to collect heart rate, respiration data and motion data of patients admitted to sleep lab and to determine the current accuracy level of the EarlySense system vs. the standard system, and predicate device for EarlySense (Embla) used in sleep lab in monitoring heart rate and respiration rates monitors (ECG, respiratory belts, oximeter) that are currently used in the sleep lab among different population (Obese, patients with or without apnea, patients with or without arrhythmia). It is emphasized that no interpretations or clinical decisions will be made based on data received from the ES study device.
