Retrospective Study of Psychoattitudinal Patterns in Patients With Fibromyalgia Receiving Antalgic...

AnalgesiaFibromyalgia3 more

Fibromyalgia (FM) is a widespread and invalidating disease that requires a multidisciplinary approach. Particularly, the psychiatric component seems to influence the algological management of these patients. Since January 2018, the HADS, SF-36, IMSA, TCI psycho-attitudinal questionnaires have been introduced in the Pain Therapy unit of Policlinico Sant'Orsola-Malpighi in an attempt to improve the care of patients diagnosed with FM. The aim of the study is to identify, through retrospective evaluation of TCI tests and its subdomains, compiled by patients with FM diagnosis, Pain Avoidance and Pain Persistance personality patterns, indicated in the literature. Anxiety and Depression incidence is also observed through retrospective evaluation of HADS tests. Patients in the Antalgic Therapy Outpatient Clinic diagnosed with FM, aged ≥18 years, who have completed selfadministered psychoattitudinal tests from January 2018 to January 2019 were considered. The data were collected in aggregate and extrapolated anonymously.

Evaluation of Headache and Childbirth in a Chronic Pain Population

Headache

Headache and backache are common symptoms following childbirth. The incidence of these symptoms have been shown to increase during the postpartum period between 5 to 12 months following delivery. By 12 months postpartum up to 45% and 65% of women experience headache and backache, respectively. While studies have reported headache and backache as frequently persistent symptoms beyond the first year postpartum, few studies have specifically interrogated women seeking specialist pain physician input or identified predisposing risk factors. Finally there is little known about typically described pain characteristics of women who suffer with chronic postpartum headache and backache. We aim to compare the prevalence of chronic headache in women that have versus have not experienced childbirth.

French Version of POMI Scale

Chronic PainOpioid Misuse

French translation and validation of the Prescription Opioid Misuse Index scale (POMI), a brief questionnaire to assess opioid prescription misuse. In view of the increase in the prescription of opioid analgesics for chronic non-cancer pain (CNCP), this tool is particularly interesting to use during medical consultations to screen misuse in opioids user patients. We conducted an observational, prospective and multicenter psychometric study with a cross-cultural validation in 154 CNCP patients treated by opioid at least from 3 months, in two pain clinics.

Pain in Competitive Athletes With Physical Disabilities and Techniques for Its Management

Athletic InjuriesPhysical Disability1 more

There are psychosocial factors that affect pain, and therefore, psychological intervention techniques have been added to its usual pharmacological and physiotherapeutic treatment. Despite the abundant evidence that addresses psychosocial factors as clear mediators in the perception of pain, the use of psychological techniques for pain management in competitive athletes, and more especially in competitive athletes with physical disabilities, is scarce. The purpose of this study was to ascertain the perception of high-level competitive athletes with physical disability and sports agents (coaches, physiotherapists and psychologists).
