Decontaminant Agent in the Treatment of Chronic Periodontitis
Chronic PeriodontitisIn light of the controversy that are already approved but that however still exists regarding the efficacy and influence of the decontaminant tools for the management of Chronic Periodontitis (cp), the aim of this study was to evaluates, at 1 year follow-up, the post-treatment clinical parameters and immunological and gingival microbial profiles in patients with CP, treated by either SRP in addition to desiccant or SRP alone. The null hypothesis to invalidate was that, after a one year follow-up, there were no variations, in relation to clinical, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory parameters between SRP + desiccant and SRP alone treatment.
Efficacy of Glycine Powder Air-Polishing Combined With Scaling and Root Planing in the Treatment...
HalitosisThe aim of this clinical study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of using perio flow adjunctively with mechanical instrumentation on periodontal parameters and halitosis. Sixty patients who presented with 4-6-mm probing pocket depth (PPD) were recruited for the study. Patients were randomly assigned to glycine powder air-polishing (GPAP) or control groups. For both groups PPDscores were recorded at the baseline and 1 month. Volatile sulphur compound (VSC) values were measured by a halimeter at the baseline, immediately after treatment, and at 7 days, 14 days and 1 month.
Comparison of Topical Analgesic With Saline Rinses in Post Extraction Healing
PeriodontitisDental Caries1 moreThe aim of this study is to determine the beneficial effect of mouth rinses, both topical analgesic and saline regimens as an adjuvant therapy in the presence of standard prescription of post-operative pain killers on the progress of socket healing following routine dental extraction.
Effects of Probiotic Therapy in the Treatment of Periodontitis.
PeriodontitisProbioticsThe aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of the probiotic therapy as an adjunct to non-surgical periodontal treatment in patients diagnosed with Generalized Chronic Periodontitis. Clinical study's hypothesis is that with the use of probiotic therapy, the standard treatment could be enhance.
Plaque Formation Rate and Toothpaste
Chronic PeriodontitisThis 12-week prospective, randomized, double-blind, two-center trial evaluated the impact of a microcrystalline zinc-hydroxyapatite (mHA) dentifrice on plaque formation rate (PFR) in periodontitis patients. The investigators hypothesized that mHA precipitates cause delayed plaque development when compared to a fluoridated control (AmF/SnF2), and therefore would improve periodontal health.
Effects of Photobiomodulation on Postoperative Pain After Primary Endodontic Therapy in Molars With...
Postoperative PainThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of photobiomodulation (PBM) on postoperative pain after endodontic treatment in mandibular molar teeth diagnosed with symptomatic apical periodontitis.
Effects of a Probiotic on Oral Microbiota and Glycemic Control in Type 2 Diabetics; A Randomized...
Diabetes Mellitus,Type 2PeriodontitisThe present study evaluated clinically the effects of a probiotic on oral microbiota and glycemic control in T2 diabetic patients with periodontal disease. The study was designed as a prospective randomized, double-blind, placebo- controlled interventional study. At baseline and at the end of the 30 day- probiotic period, all clinical, microbiological, and biochemical measurements were tested. Colony counts of oral microbiota, blood fructosamine levels and CRP were the outcomes of the study.
Mechanical Vs Chemomechanical Method For Calcium Hydroxide Removal
Necrotic PulpChronic Apical PeriodontitisType of study: Randomised Clinical trial To compare the effectiveness of Mechanical and Chemomechanical methods in the removal of Water-based Calcium hydroxide medicament from endodontic system. Participants allocated in group A and B should be appointed for Endodontic treatment of Single rooted teeth diagnosed with Necrotic Pulp and Chronic Apical Periodontitis. In group A, Calcium hydroxide medicament will be removed by using Mechanical method while in group B, Calcium hydroxide will be removed by using Chemomechanical method.
Effects of Vitamin D on Moderate to Severe Periodontitis
Chronic PeritonitisThe object of the study was to evaluate the direct effect of high dose vitamin D supplementation on chronic periodontitis, and suggest the recommended dose for clinic use.
Alternative Antibiotic Regime in the Treatment of GAgP
Generalized Aggressive PeriodontitisAggressive PeriodontitisThe objective of this randomized clinical study was to evaluate the effect of systemic administration of moxifloxacin compared to amoxicillin plus metronidazole combined with non-surgical treatment in patients with generalized aggressive periodontitis (GAgP) in 6-month follow-up. A total of 40 systemically healthy patients with GAgP will evaluate in this randomized clinical trial. Periodontal parameters (plaque index, gingival index, probing depth, bleeding on probing, clinical attachment level) will be recorded at baseline, 1st, 3rd and 6th month. Patients will receive either 400 mg moxifloxacin per os once daily or 500 mg metronidazole and 500 mg amoxicillin per os three times daily for 7 days consecutively.
