Intraoperative Simultaneous Pressure Guided Revascularization Study
Peripheral Vascular DiseasesBlood Pressure4 moreThis study aims to determine whether intraoperative physiologic measurements of blood flow to the leg during endovascular treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) can predict future clinical outcomes.
Distributed Registry
Peripheral Arterial DiseaseIntermittent Claudication8 moreThe purpose of this study is to test if a patient can be directly connected to a quality assurance (QA) database, traditionally known as a registry. Patient-reported outcomes (PRO) data will be entered into the database directly from a patient's mobile phone from their index procedure for 12 months. The investigators hope this study to be a "proof of concept" for such a distributed registry and evaluate 1) consistency of data acquisition, 2) engagement of patients, 3) overall value of patient-reported outcomes to enhance long term follow up.
Patient and Provider Assessment of Lipid Management Registry
HyperlipidemiaHypercholesterolemia15 moreThe purpose of the Patient and Provider Assessment of Lipid Management Registry (PALM) is to gain a better understanding of physicians' cholesterol medication prescribing practices, patient and physician attitudes and beliefs related to cholesterol management, and current utilization of cholesterol-lowering therapies given the new ACC/AHA guideline recommendations. The PALM Registry hopes to allow for the design of ways to improve cholesterol management and decrease the burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the US.
PREDICT-PVI Understanding Peripheral Restenosis: Genomic and Proteomic Determinants of Vascular...
Peripheral Artery DiseaseThe overall goal of this multicenter collaborative research study is to identify genetic, proteomic, and/or lipidic (lipidomic) biomarkers associated with the outcomes of lower extremity revascularization in patients with advanced peripheral artery disease (PAD).
IDOMENEO - Is Treatment Reality in Vascular Medicine Evidence-based and Follows Guideline Recommendations?...
Symptomatic Peripheral Arterial DiseaseOcclusive Disease of Artery of Lower Extremity1 moreThe prevalence of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and the proportion of endovascular procedures for treatment are increasing worldwide. For many cases of treatment or procedures no randomized controlled trials (RCT) or results from meta-analyses are so far available. The decision for treatment and selection of procedure is therefore not uncommonly left up to the personal expertise of the physician. The IDOMENEO study represents a multistage multimethodological project for healthcare research and quality assurance in interdisciplinary vascular medicine, which undertakes a comprehensive examination of this topic. Various methods and data sources (even routine data) are linked in a meaningful way. The essential components of the total project are implementation of a register platform (GermanVasc), which conforms to data protection and data security as well as the development of instruments for valid measurement of the quality of life of patients with PAD. The data protection-conform linking of primary data in the register and routine data of the consortium partner BARMER should also enable validation of the data sources.
Association of Long-term Conditions With Survival Following Heart Attack in England and Wales
Acute Myocardial InfarctionDiabetes Mellitus5 moreThis study aims to determine the extent to which pre-existing long-term conditions are associated with survival following a heart attack (acute myocardial infarction) using observational data from the UK's national heart attack register.
Safety and Efficacy of Autologous Concentrated Bone Marrow Aspirate for Critical Limb Ischemia -...
Peripheral Arterial DiseasePeripheral Vascular Diseases1 moreThis study will continue to evaluate the performance of the MarrowStim™ PAD Kit to treat subjects with critical limb ischemia (CLI) caused by severe PAD.
Evaluation of Microcirculation of Peripheral Vascular Disease in Diabetes
Peripheral Vascular Disease in DiabetesThe main aim of the present study was to evaluate the microcirculation of peripheral vascular disease in diabetes.
Athrectomy and Drug Eluting Balloon Therapy (ADEBT) on the Femoral Popliteal Arteries
Peripheral Arterial DiseaseThe aim of this study is to study the effects of athrectomy followed by percutaneous transluminal angioplasty using Paclitaxel coated Drug Eluting Balloon (DEB) in treating de novo or re-stenotic lesions in the femoral-popliteal artery in patients with symptomatic peripheral vascular disease in an Asian population. The intention is to study the effects of debulking athrectomy followed by application of DEBs to prevent restenosis, resulting in improved patency rates The study will prospectively recruit 8 cases treated with athrectomy followed by DEB. This project is a pilot to investigate the effects of athrectomy and DEB in reducing re-stenosis rates. It will be a primer for a larger scale randomized controlled trial (RCT) involving multiple institutions to demonstrate the benefit of athrectomy and DEB technology to treat de novo versus plain balloon angioplasty with bail-out stenting, which is currently the most commonly used modality to treat femoral-popliteal lesions. There are no studies combining the effect of rotational athrectomy and DEBs.
Clinical and MRI Cardiac Biomarkers on Peripheral Arterial Disease in Patients With Long Term DM...
Peripheral Arterial DiseaseThe aim of this study is to establish a clinically feasible simultaneous evaluation of heart and lower limb using MRI and to assess the combined benefit of clinical and cardiac MRI imaging markers in the evaluation of PAD and prediction of treatment outcome.
