Purpose:To observe the effects of music therapy on gross motor functions, pain and functional independence measurement in children with cerebral palsy(CP). Methods:Forty children with CP between 5-11years of age,were randomly divided into a music therapy(MT)+Neurodevelopmental techniques(NDT)group and only NDT group.Children listened to Classical music disc for 45 minutes.Children treated by NDT while listening to this music.Children were evaluated with Gross Motor Function Measurement(GMFM-88),WeeFIM for functional independence measurement,Wong-Baker faces pain rating scale (FACES) for pain intensity before,at the end of treatment and after 3 months of treatment.The treatments were given 3 times in every week,and totally 15 treatments were applied for 5 weeks.

Interscalene brachial plexus block (ISB) constitutes the analgesic criterion standard for shoulder surgery. However, it is associated with a high incidence of hemidiaphragmatic paralysis (HDP) that may not be tolerated by patients with chronic pulmonary disease. Continuous ISBs have not avoided this complication with the reported and regularly used local anesthetic dilutions (i.e. 0.125% bupivacaine, 0.25% ropivacaine, etc). This observational study will register the incidence of HDP in continuous interscalene block (CISB) using a very diluted solution of levobupivacaine (0.04%) in patients undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery. The main objective of this study is to determine the frequency of HDP the first postoperative day before patient discharge(POD).

The study has been conducted to see the effects of traditional massage on spasticity and activity of children with cerebral palsy (CP). It is a randomized controlled trial having two groups, control and intervention. Both groups received routine physical therapy treatment comprising stretching of tight muscles, strengthening of weak muscles, positioning and handling. Intervention group also received traditional massage in addition to routine physical therapy. Caregivers were trained to perform routine physical therapy treatment and traditional massage at home. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire, Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS), Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS), Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) and CPChild Caregiver Priorities & Child Health Index of Life with Disabilities at baseline, after 06 weeks and 12 weeks of intervention.

The aim of the study; To investigate the effects of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilizations and Stretching Exercises on flexibility, spasticity, balance and functional mobility in patients with CP.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of botulinum toxin-A in salivary glands as a treatment for decrease drooling in patients with cerebral palsy and evaluate the long-term effects and tolerance . To assess whether patients with cerebral palsy have hypersalivation comparing with patients without treatment and healthy volunteers and if botulinum toxin may reduce the volume of drooling without altering the swallowing function.

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of 10-weeks leucine supplementation on muscle growth, metabolism, body composition, inflammation and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults with CP.

Thyroidectomy is a common surgical procedure in France. Recurrent paralysis is one of the main complications. Oral corticosteroid therapy are frequently used at a dosage of 1mg/kg for seven days, in case of recurrent paralysis to obtain remobilization as early as possible. The main objective is to evaluate the efficacy of oral corticosteroid therapy in remobilization of vocal cords at seven days in patients with unilateral recurrent paralysis after thyroidectomy.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is defined as a non-progressive lesion of the immature brain. Children with CP may present with a variety of motor impairments. The impaired upper limb function of children with cerebral palsy (CP) limits and restricts participation in activities of daily living. Kinesio Taping (KT) is commonly used in sport injuries, in neurology and oncology patients following the surgical protocols, and for pediatric rehabilitation to reduce pain, facilitate or inhibit muscle activity, prevent injuries, reposition joints, aid the lymphatic system, support postural alignment, and improve proprioception. Kinesiotaping is a treatment that has not been studied much and can be applied in cerebral palsy. The tapes were grouped as elastic and rigid. In fact, there has been a few studies that investigates the effect of upper extremity elastic kinesiotaping. High methodological studies about its efficacy in this population are rare.

Purpose of the study; To improve the upper extremity motor functions of patients with adolescent cerebral palsy, Prevent treatment interruptions as age progresses, Increase the hand functions of children with cerebral palsy and to increase their living standards. Hand functions will be assessed with MACS (Manual Ability Classification System), hand dynamometer, box-block test, 9 hole peg test, pressing velocity measured with Cubase MIDI (musical instrument data interface) program. Patients will receive 2 days of 40 minutes per week, total 3 months of customized piano training. Each session will be started with finger warming exercises, then with the right hand, left handed and with both hands, a simple pentatonic array will be played. In the following lessons, notes will be marked with colors and simple songs will be taught. At the end of 3 months, the tests will be repeated.

The aim of the study is to evaluate, with a small-scale pilot study, the efficacy of Meditation Relaxation therapy for Sleep Paralyses in patients with narcolepsy. The study involves two arms, with intervention with Meditation Relaxation therapy or sham over a period of three months.
