Novel Imaging Markers for Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid ArthritisThe purpose of this study is to use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and high-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography (HR-pQCT) techniques to look at the damage and disease activity progression in the hand and wrist joints of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The central hypothesis is that ongoing erosions and cartilage loss in rheumatoid arthritis are due to persistent inflammation, which is poorly detected by clinical examination and markers of systemic inflammation.
Ultrasonography in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Juvenile Idiopathic ArthritisOligoarthritis2 moreThe purpose of this study is to analyse the usability of ultrasonography together with biomarkers in the investigation of patients diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. The investigators hypothesize that serum and urine markers of cartilage and bone synthesis and degradation, together with ultrasound measurements of joint cartilage thickness, are useful tools in the early evaluation of JIA patients, - as diagnostic, prognostic and monitoring methods.
Long Term Effects of an Early Response to Certolizumab Pegol (CZP, Cimzia®) in Rheumatoid Arthritis...
Arthritis,RheumatoidTo determine if early clinical response at 12 weeks to Certolizumab Pegol (CZP, Cimzia ®) therapy in adult Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients is a predictor of better long term clinical response at 18 months compared with a lack of clinical response at 12 weeks.
Full Mouth Disinfection and Antibiotics for Periodontitis in High or Moderate Disease Activity Rheumatoid...
Rheumatoid ArthritisThe purpose of this study is to determine whether full mouth disinfection in combination with one week antibiotic amoxicillin plus metronidazole antibiotic therapy is improving periodontitis and disease activity of rheumatoid arthritis.
Study With Etanercept Focusing on Remission and Predictability of Remission in Real Life Clinical...
Rheumatoid ArthritisDefining Which Remission Criterion at Month 6 Predicts Remission at Month 12 in a Real Life Clinical Practice, in a Cohort of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients Treated with Etanercept
Causes of Comorbid Infertility Among Women With Rheumatoid Arthritis
InfertilityRheumatoid ArthritisThe purpose of this study is to increase our understanding of infertility in women with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). In this study the study team will compare the differences in ovarian reserve (the ability to provide egg cells that are capable of fertilization), the frequency of ovulation and the number of pregnancies between women with and without RA. It is possible that RA activity and medications limit ovarian reserve and ovulation, which may increase infertility among women with RA. There are several suspected causes for infertility in RA, including age-related fertility decline, inflammatory changes that impact endometrial receptivity and discourage implantation, accelerated ovarian decline due to certain arthritis medications and increased frequency of anovulation (a menstrual cycle during which ovaries do not release an egg) due to RA activity. This study is the first step toward our long term goal of increasing the ability of all women with RA to build the family they desire.
Therapeutic Strategy in Patients Treated With Methotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid ArthritisThis is a longitudinal, observational, prospective, multicentre study conducted in metropolitan France, among a representative sample of office-based or mixed practice rheumatology doctors. The aim of this study is to describe in real life, the therapy strategy when faced with a patient treated with methotrexate as a monotherapy consulting for rheumatoid arthritis and the impact on the progression of the disease at 6 months.
AMPED Outcomes Registry of Post-ED Pain Management
Soft Tissue InjuriesGouty Arthritis3 moreStudy aims to assess patient-recorded outcomes of pain control medications prescribed in the ER after visits for specific painful injuries/illnesses.
Orofacial Evaluation in Women With Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid ArthritisRheumatoid arthritis (RA) can affect any synovial joint. Unlike the hand, ever so valued in the physical examination of patients with RA, the joints in the area of the jaw and neck may also be affected in this disease and have their involvement usually underdiagnosed. There are few studies evaluating the incidence of orofacial alteration in the examination as well as the correlation between bite force (BF) and clinical and functional parameters in these patients. The aim of our study was to chacacterize the orofacial alterations in RA patients, correlate the results of the orofacial evaluation with clinical and disease activity parameters, and correlate the bite force with the hand strenght.
Effect of Preop Nutritional Status on Outcomes of Staged Bilateral Total Knee Arthroplasty
ArthritisTo determine if preop nutritional status is an indicator for outcomes of bilateral staged total knee arthroplasty. The investigators expect that patients having staged bilateral total knee arthroplasty with the second procedure performed within one week of the first and have a total lymphocyte count >1500 per cubic millimeter and serum albumin level >35 grams per liter will have the same or less complications and shorter length of stay than those with lower lymphocyte count and albumin level.
