Safety Study of Abatacept in Sweden
Rheumatoid ArthritisThe primary purpose of this study is to assess incidence rates of targeted infections, malignancies and mortality among patients with rheumatoid arthritis who are treated with abatacept.
Observational Study on Non-steroid Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) Treated Patients With Arthritic...
OsteoarthritisRheumatoid Arthritis1 moreThe aim of this study is to find out how patients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis receiving NSAID-therapy are treated and managed by their doctor in usual clinical practice, how patients comply with their treatment and how satisfied they are with their treatment.
A Study to Evaluate BioMarkers in Blood Samples in Subjects With Rheumatoid Arthritis
ArthritisThe purpose of this study is to study the evaluation of blood samples and blood types to identify functional protein in the joints.
Changes in the Use of Opioids, Antidepressants, and Benzodiazepines in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients...
Rheumatoid ArthritisTo compare the proportion of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients prescribed opioids, benzodiazepines, and antidepressants before versus after starting each of the following biologics: abatacept, infliximab, etanercept, adalimumab, utilizing an administrative claims database.
Characterize Patients With Moderately Active Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
Rheumatoid ArthritisTo assess the baseline (i.e. RA therapy initiation) characteristics in a real-world setting across two moderate RA cohorts: a Test Group of patients newly exposed to etanercept (Enbrel) therapy and a Control Group of patients with similar disease characteristics newly exposed to other, non-biologic therapies. To assess the change over time (from baseline to the most recent follow-up) in the characteristics described at baseline in 2 British Society for Rheumatology Biologics Register (BSRBR) cohorts (i.e. moderate RA patients treated with Disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) alone versus moderate RA patients treated with Enbrel).
Effect of Preop Nutritional Status on Outcomes of Staged Bilateral Total Knee Arthroplasty
ArthritisTo determine if preop nutritional status is an indicator for outcomes of bilateral staged total knee arthroplasty. The investigators expect that patients having staged bilateral total knee arthroplasty with the second procedure performed within one week of the first and have a total lymphocyte count >1500 per cubic millimeter and serum albumin level >35 grams per liter will have the same or less complications and shorter length of stay than those with lower lymphocyte count and albumin level.
Compassionate Use of Pennsaid Topical Lotion (Diclofenac) in Osteo or Rheumatoid Arthritis
Osteoarthritis of the HandThis was a compassionate use, open treatment safety study of Pennsaid topical lotion (diclofenac) for osteo or rheumatoid arthritis.
Exercise Perceptions and Preferences Among Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients
Rheumatoid ArthritisThe purpose of the study is to analyse exercise behaviour of rheumatoid arthritis patients.
Orofacial Evaluation in Women With Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid ArthritisRheumatoid arthritis (RA) can affect any synovial joint. Unlike the hand, ever so valued in the physical examination of patients with RA, the joints in the area of the jaw and neck may also be affected in this disease and have their involvement usually underdiagnosed. There are few studies evaluating the incidence of orofacial alteration in the examination as well as the correlation between bite force (BF) and clinical and functional parameters in these patients. The aim of our study was to chacacterize the orofacial alterations in RA patients, correlate the results of the orofacial evaluation with clinical and disease activity parameters, and correlate the bite force with the hand strenght.
Modifying Exercise for the COPD Patient
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseArthritis1 moreThis study will test whether using the Biodex BioStep Semi Recumbent Elliptical for the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patient with arthritic limitations will improve participation in a pulmonary rehab program compared to the Nustep elliptical. The main outcome of participation will be measured by the number of exercise sessions the patient is able to complete during their pulmonary rehabilitation program. In addition, distance walked in six minutes, dyspnea score, rate of perceived exertion (RPE) score, Pain Scale Index score, and finally, the Dartmouth Quality of Life index (DQL) will be assessed in both groups. It is believed that the new machine will provide better overall outcomes compared to the traditional machine.
