A Study of RoActemra/Actemra (Tocilizumab) Versus Adalimumab in Combination With Methotrexate (MTX)...

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This randomized, parallel-group study will assess the efficacy and safety of RoActemra/Actemra (tocilizumab) versus adalimumab, both in combination with methotrexate (MTX) in patients with moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis. Patients, already treated with MTX at stable doses, will be randomized to receive either RoActemra/Actemra 8 mg/kg intravenously (IV) every 4 weeks or adalimumab 40 mg subcutaneous (SC) every 2 weeks. All patients will receive methotrexate (10-25 mg weekly) and folate (at least 5 mg weekly). The anticipated time on study treatment is 24 weeks.

Effect of SAR153191 (REGN88) With Methotrexate in Patients With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis Who...

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Primary Objective: - To demonstrate that sarilumab (SAR153191/REGN88) on top of methotrexate (MTX) was superior in efficacy to placebo for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), in participants with active RA who had failed up to 2 tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) antagonists. Secondary Objectives: To assess the safety of sarilumab; To document the pharmacokinetic profile of sarilumab.

A Study of Ocrelizumab Compared to Placebo in Patients With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis Continuing...

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of ocrelizumab, compared with placebo, in combination with methotrexate in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis who have had an inadequate response to methotrexate. Patients will be randomized to receive placebo, 200mg of intravenous ocrelizumab or 500mg of i.v. ocrelizumab on Days 1 and 15. A repeat course of i.v. treatment will be administered at Weeks 24 and 26. All patients will receive 7.5mg - 25mg/week concomitant methotrexate at a stable dose. The anticipated time on study treatment is 1-2 years. Target sample size is 1000.

A Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Study of MabThera (Rituximab) Plus Methotrexate in Patients...

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This single arm study will investigate the pattern of B cell depletion in synovial tissue and peripheral blood of patients with active RA, after MabThera (1000mg iv x 2 on days 1 and 15) + methotrexate (10-25mg/week po) treatment. The clinical efficacy and pharmacokinetic profile of MabThera after treatment and retreatment will also be investigated. The anticipated time on study treatment is 2+ years, and the target sample size is <100 individuals.

BG9924 in Combination With Methotrexate for Participants With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This Phase 2b study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of BG9924 given subcutaneously (SC) versus placebo in participants with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who have previously had an inadequate response to treatment with anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) therapy.

Study of KB003 In Biologics-Inadequate Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and efficacy of various repeat-dose regimens of KB003 in subjects with active Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) who have had an inadequate prior treatment outcome from biologic therapy.

A Study to Evaluate Ocrelizumab in Combination With Methotrexate Compared With Infliximab Plus Methotrexate...

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This is a Phase II, randomized, active-controlled, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-group, multicenter study in the United States enrolling patients with active RA. The study will enroll approximately 290 patients at approximately 130 sites.

Marine Oils and Arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis

NSAIDS are associated with adverse GI effects and COX-2 inhibitors have cardiovascular risk. Long-term oral supplementation with fish oil reduce e.g. joint pain in rheumatoid arthritis (R.A) patients, with reduced need for NSAIDS, in addition to being cardioprotective. The aim is to investigate if 4 month supplementation of 15 ml/day of whale blubber oil compared with cod liver oil reduce the intensity of joint pain in patients with R.A (primary outcome). Patients are assessed at inclusion and after study (4 months) during routine polyclinical visit. Patients are called for interview after 6 and 12 weeks. Secondary outcomes are e.g. morning stiffness, quality of life and functional level
