The purpose of this study is to see if an intravenous medication called metoclopramide can improve the symptoms of patients with acute post-traumatic headache.

Acupuncture for Headache Post-Traumatic Brain Injury: A Feasibility Study

Post-Traumatic HeadacheTraumatic Brain Injury

This study evaluates and addresses challenges to implementing an acupuncture intervention for adults who have headaches after sustaining a moderate traumatic brain injury. Eligible participants will be recruited from Seattle and the surrounding areas to receive weekly acupuncture for 12 consecutive weeks. Participants will complete questionnaires to assess headache impact, depression, health-related quality of life, and cognitive function at the beginning of the study and every two weeks for the duration of the study. Participants will participate in structured interviews after the study for their views on the acceptability and tolerability of the study protocol.

This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of fremanezumab in adult participants aged 18 to 70 years, inclusive, for the prevention of PTH. The study will include a double-blind (DB) treatment period (12 weeks) and an open-label (OL) treatment period (12 weeks).

Cervicogenic Headache

Cervicogenic headache (CgH) is a distinct form of headache and accounts for 17.8% of all headaches and the prevalence rate is between 0.4% and 20%. A guide to health and safety in the office handbook by common wealth of Australia (2008) suggested the ergonomic guidance and interventions for preventing and treating musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) injuries in the office workers. Also, It has been estimated that 34% of US citizens receive some sort of physiotherapy for CgH each year. However, no studies have compared and investigated the combined and individual effects of workstation ergonomics, physiotherapy and patient education for improving cervicogenic headache and work ability in office workers.

The purpose of this multi-site study is to evaluate the efficacy of a high omega-3/low omega-6 dietary intervention (the H3-L6 Diet) vs. a Control Diet in reducing headache pain and improving function in soldiers, veterans and military healthcare beneficiaries with post-traumatic headache (PTH). In addition, the study will examine the effects of the diet interventions on anti-nociceptive and pro-nociceptive lipid mediators derived from omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
