The Treatment Effect of Endoscopic Evacuation Versus Suboccipital Craniotomy for Spontaneous Intracerebellar...
Posterior Fossa HemorrhageThe purpose of the present study is to compare the effectiveness and safety of two surgery evacuation methods (endoscopic surgery and suboccipital craniotomy) in the treatment of acute spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage (SCH). A multi-center randomized control trial will be conducted. Patients with an initial GCS score of 5-14 will be screened and enrolled in the first 24 hours after SCH.
Fibrinogen Replacement to Prevent Intracranial Haemorrhage in Ischemic Stroke Patients After Thrombolysis...
Intracranial HemorrhagesIschemic StrokeFibrinogen replacement could prevent haemorrhagic complications in ischemic stroke patients with secondary post-rtPA hypofibrinogenemia
PROpranolol for Cerebral Hemorrhage-ASsociated pnEumonia (PRO-CHASE)
StrokeVascular Accident5 moreStroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is a grave complication of stroke and one of the most important predictors for patients' poor outcomes. Stroke associated pneumoniaSAP and other infections limited the overall efficacy of stroke management. Increasing evidence suggests that sympathetic nervous system activity contributes to post post-stroke immunosuppression and emergence of infections. This study is designed to test the safety and efficacy of an adrenergic β receptor blocker propranolol in reducing SAP in hemorrhagic stroke patients, in a multi-center, randomized, open-labeled, end point-blinded, trial.
MIND: Artemis in the Removal of Intracerebral Hemorrhage
Cerebral HemorrhageBrain Hemorrhage2 moreThe primary objective of this multicenter randomized controlled study is to compare the safety and efficacy of minimally invasive hematoma evacuation with the Artemis Neuro Evacuation Device to best medical management for the treatment of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).
Safety and Efficacy of Remote Ischemic Conditioning for Spontaneous Intracerebral Hemorrhage
Intracranial HemorrhagesThe purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety of remote ischemic conditioning in treating acute intracerebral hemorrhage.
Setting Families on a Positive Path to Recovery After Pediatric TBI: Road-to-Recovery
Traumatic Brain InjuryHead Injury6 moreThis study has two main goals: 1) to refine and enhance the R2R-TBI intervention; and 2) to examine the efficacy of the R2R-TBI intervention in a randomized control trial. To achieve the second goal, we will employ a between-groups randomized treatment design with repeated measures at baseline, one-month post-randomization, and at a six-month follow-up. The two conditions will be: a) usual medical care plus access to internet resources regarding pediatric brain injury (Internet Resources Comparison group, IRC), and b) usual medical care plus the R2R-TBI intervention (Road-to-Recovery group, R2R-TBI).
Efficacy and Safety Study: Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) for Treating Movement...
Intracerebral HemorrhageThis pilot study aims to assess the effectiveness and safety of rTMS in the treatment of movement disorders in patients with ICH.
Application of Magnesium-rich Artificial Cerebrospinal Fluid in Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
Intracranial HemorrhageIntracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is one of the common fatal types of cerebral apoplexy with high mortality and disability rates. Hematoma volume and complications of intracerebral hemorrhage are major predictors of early death and poor prognosis. The hematoma and its metabolites are key therapeutic targets. At present, in order to improve the prognosis of patients, cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) replacement with normal saline(NS) is commonly used in clinical practice to clear the bloody components, which shows a good clinical effect. However, due to the large difference between NS and CSF composition, it is easy to cause secondary injury of brain tissue. Therefore, the replacement of artificial CSF with similar CSF composition will be more effective in reducing the incidence of complications and improve the prognosis of neurological function. The Magnesium-rich Artificial Cerebrospinal Fluid(MACSF) was designed and developed in the early stage of this project which has similar physical and chemical properties to physiological CSF, such as ion species, concentration, the potential of hydrogen (pH) value, and osmotic pressure. Animal experiments had confirmed its safety and effectiveness. In this study, patients with basal ganglia intracerebral hemorrhage ruptured into the ventricle or subarachnoid hemorrhage were stratified randomly divided into MACSF group and NS group. MACSF and NS were used as replacement fluid for lumbar puncture CSF replacement, respectively. By observing and comparing two groups of patients of the Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) on the days14, 30, 60 and 90 after onset; hematoma absorption rate, hemorrhagic CSF removal rate; changes of cerebral autoregulation; incidence of complications, such as acute obstructive hydrocephalus (AOH) and cerebral vasospasm (CVS); the changes of scores and scales about imaging; assessment of neurological function recovery, such as the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and the Glasgow Coma Score (GCS) during hospitalization, headache duration and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), vomiting duration, duration of meningeal irritant, ICU hospitalization duration, total hospitalization duration; change of CSF and peripheral blood biochemical indicators. The objective is to evaluate MACSF replacement therapy in patients with basal ganglia cerebral hemorrhage broken into ventricles and nonaneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage of the influence of absorption rate and prognosis.
International Subarachnoid Aneurysm Trial II
Intracranial Hemorrhage Ruptured AneurysmThe purpose of this study is to compare the clinical outcome of surgical clipping and endovascular coiling for ruptured intracranial aneurysms not included in the original ISAT Study.
CPP Versus PFC to Correct Coagulation Disorders in Adult Neurosurgical Patients
Intracranial HemorrhagesThis prospective, randomized, multicenter study is performed to determine whether prothrombin complex concentrates confers any benefits over fresh frozen plasma in adult neurological patients with coagulation disorders (PT value less than 60%).
