Preventing Diabetes With Digital Health and Coaching
PreDiabetesThe goal of this randomized controlled trial is to determine the efficacy of a digital diabetes prevention program for improving weight, glucose control, and secondary risk factors among people with prediabetes compared to an enhanced standard care plus wait-list control. Exploratory assessments of implementation facilitators and barriers will also be completed to determine strategies for integrating external diabetes-prevention interventions within healthcare settings.
Blood Glucose, Cognition and Wellbeing @ Work
HealthyPreDiabetesThis randomized controlled pilot study has as a main aim to investigate the relationship between glucose and cognition and wellbeing, as well as food intake in an at-work setting. Additionally, the continuous glucose data collected in the study will be used to investigate the inter- and intraindividual variability in glucose response to foods/meal in a real-life setting. Finally, the study aims to determine if self-monitoring and feedback about food intake and health stimulate individuals to make healthier choices. This study will have two groups, the feedback group and the control group. The study will consist of two self-monitoring periods of two weeks. In between these two self-monitoring periods, the participants in the feedback group will be given feedback on their measurement data. The control group will not get any feedback.
Effects of Allium Hookeri on Blood Glucose
PreDiabetesThe researchers investigated the anti-diabetic effects of Allium hookeri root extract for Korean prediabetic participants.
Diabetes Prevention for Mexican Americans
Prediabetic StateOverweight and ObesityThis study tests a culturally tailored lifestyle intervention designed to prevent, or delay onset of, T2DM in Mexican Americans with prediabetes. Half the participants take part in a lifestyle program that emphasizes preparing and eating healthy Mexican American foods and increasing physical activity; the other half take part in an "enhanced" usual care control group.
Valued EpiGenetic Glycemic ImprovEments Through Weight Loss
ObesityPre-diabetesThis randomized controlled clinical trial will use methylomic and transcriptomic profiling to examine the effects of a weight loss intervention on the cholesterol metabolism gene network in monocytes and adipocytes and investigate the longitudinal relationship between these modifications and glycemic improvements.
Pilot Stair Climbing Study
Prediabetic StateThis pilot study seeks to demonstrate feasibility to conduct data collection and illustrate potential for effect of fractionalized bouts of stair climbing on glucose control in adults at risk for type 2 diabetes.
A Pharmacist-Coordinated Implementation of the Diabetes Prevention Program
Prediabetic StateThis proposed project will translate evidence-based strategies for diabetes prevention within the framework of an existing and highly utilized pharmacist-led diabetes care program. Our team includes investigators and practitioners with experience in implementing the DPP (Diabetes Prevention Program) as well as in community-based research. This proposal represents an opportunity to rapidly implement an innovative project addressing a critical area of significant unmet need, as the required key health system and community infrastructure are already in place. The intended outcome is the creation of a practical, effective and sustainable approach to increase evidence-based diabetes prevention strategies that can readily be adopted in other systems.
Fit and Trim for Diabetes Prevention
Pre-diabetesOverweight1 moreFilipino Americans (FA) are the second largest (3.4 million) Asian group in the US. and have one of the highest prevalences of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus compared to non-Hispanic whites, African Americans and Hispanics. However, FA have been underrepresented in health related research, particularly in diabetes prevention. This proposed pilot study is the first clinical trial to assess preliminary estimates of the short-term effect of the novel social networking diabetes prevention program lifestyle intervention for this high-risk population.

PrediabetesThe purpose of the present study is to evaluate the effect of the extract of the flour fermented with Bacillus subtilis var natto DC-15 on postprandial glucose level in subjects with prediabetes.
Live Your Life Without Diabetes
Pre DiabetesAim: To examine the effect of a brief theory-based health promotion intervention delivered in the community on health behaviour and diabetes-related risk factors among Danish adults at high risk of diabetes. Methods: A randomised trial was conducted among 127 individuals aged 28 to 70 with fasting plasma glucose: 6.1-6.9 mmol/l and/or HbA1c : 6.0-<6.5% (42- < 48 mmol/mol) recruited from general practice in Holstebro, Denmark. Participants were randomised to a control group or to receive the intervention delivered over four 2 h group sessions during five weeks, and two further sessions after one and six months. Questionnaire data and clinical measures were collected at baseline, three months and one year after intervention.
