Assessment of the Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of AVP-786 (Deudextromethorphan Hydrobromide...
Agitation in Patients With Dementia of the Alzheimer's TypeThis study will be conducted to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of AVP-786 compared to placebo, for the treatment of agitation in participants with dementia of the Alzheimer's type.
Deferiprone to Delay Dementia (The 3D Study)
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentProdromal Alzheimer's Disease1 moreThis study is a phase 2, randomised, placebo-controlled, multicentre study to investigate the safety and efficacy of Deferiprone in participants with Prodromal Alzheimer's Disease (pAD) and Mild Alzheimer's Disease (mAD). In this phase 2 study, the investigators aim to determine whether Deferiprone (15 mg/kg BID orally) slows cognitive decline in Alzheimer's patients. As secondary outcomes, safety and iron levels in the brain will be evaluated.
A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of CT1812 in Subjects With Mild to Moderate Alzheimer's...
Mild to Moderate Alzheimer's DiseaseThis is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group 36 week multicenter Phase 2 study of two doses of CT1812 in adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
Food Effect Study of BMS-984923 in Healthy Older Adult Volunteers
Alzheimer DiseaseDementiaThis project is developing a novel disease-modifying compound for Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Lomecel-B Effects on Alzheimer's Disease
Mild Alzheimer's DiseaseDementia resulting from AD is associated with vascular function decline and involves a pro-inflammatory state. In our Phase 1 trial, Lomecel-B treatment met the primary safety endpoint, with no safety concerns, and showed potential to improve clinical assessments. Mechanistically, Lomecel-B treated subjects had higher serum concentrations of pro-vascular and anti-inflammatory biomarkers relative to placebo. This trial builds upon those preliminary Phase 1 results, and is designed to evaluate the safety profile of multiple infusions of Lomecel-B, and to investigate provisional efficacy of single dosing versus multiple dosing of Lomecel-B on cognitive function and biomarkers in AD subjects.
Effect of Probiotics in Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer DiseaseIn this clinical trial, five strains of probiotics (Bifidobacterium breve Bv-889, B. longum subspecies infantis BLI-02, B. bifidum VDD088, B. animalis subsp. lactis CP-9, Lactobacillus plantarum PL-02) with anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory functions will been applied to slow down the development of the Alzheimer's disease through regulating the intestinal flora and immune system of patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease symptoms. The efficacy of probiotic treatment against Alzheimer's disease will be evaluated.
A Study on the Safety, Tolerability and Immunogenicity of ALZ-101 in Participants With Early Alzheimer's...
Alzheimer DiseaseDementia Alzheimers2 moreThe main purpose of this study is to evaluate safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of the vaccine ALZ-101 against Alzheimer's Disease. Patients diagnosed with early Alzheimer's will be included. The study have two parts. The Part A, includes four doses of ALZ-101 or corresponding placebo given over 16 weeks. Participant will be followed up to Week 30 in Part A and either continue in the extension part of the study, Part B, or complete Part A. Participant not eligble to Part B will be followed up until Week 68 with no further dosing. Participant eligible for Part B will be treated with 2 doses of open-label ALZ-101, over 16 weeks and follwed up during in total 68 weeks (Part A and B).
CONFIDENCE Financial Education for Caregivers
Caregiver BurdenFinancial Stress2 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine how feasible it is to deliver an online course to reduce out-of-pocket costs of caregiving and reduce financial stress among Latino family caregivers to a family member living with dementia. The investigators hope that that the results of this study will help to reduce high these out-of-pocket costs and improve financial wellbeing for Latino family caregivers. Caregivers will be asked to to participate in 3 online surveys, in addition to participating in 5, 1.5 hour group-based Zoom learning sessions.
Daily Light and Sound Stimulation to Improve Brain Functions in Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer DiseaseAlzheimer DementiaIn this trial, the safety and effect of daily exposure to light and sound stimulation on people with mild Alzheimer's Disease (AD) will be studied. COVID-19 Amendment: Due to the ongoing suspension of all in-person humans subject research across MIT in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all enrolled participants who have not completed their 6-month visit will have their visit postponed to 9 months with a follow up at 18 months. Subjects who have completed their 6-month visit will still be instructed to continue and return at Month 12 for an evaluation. OPTIONAL: If the subject would like to come in for an evaluation between Month 9 and 18, we will invite participants to come on Month 12 to complete cognitive testing and EEG.
ADvance II Study: DBS-f in Patients With Mild Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer DiseaseThe primary efficacy objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that DBS-f stimulation (ON) will slow cognitive and functional progression of AD, as compared to no stimulation (OFF), by measuring baseline (pre-implantation) to 12-month change in the integrated Alzheimer's disease rating scale (iADRS).
