The Effect of Prolotherapy in the Care Process of Pressure Injuries
Pressure UlcerThe goal of this [type of study: randomized controlled clinical trial] is to [Determining the effect of prolotherapy use on the wound care process]. The main question it aims to answer is: • [The use of proliferative substances in the care of 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage pressure injuries has a positive effect on the wound healing period]. Participants will [in patients with pressure injuries, wound irrigation with saline and wound irrigation with gelofusin were applied]. Researchers will compare [depth, length and width of the wound].
The Effects of Topical Haemoglobin Spray in Pressure Ulcer
Pressure UlcerWound HealA prospective randomised controlled experimental study was planned to compare the effects of pressure sore dressing using topical haemoglobin and traditional gauze dressing using saline on the healing process and cost of pressure sores in patients with pressure sores.
Performance of the Gynaecological Examination in the Lateral Decubitus Position
Medical CareThe gynaecological examination consists of a breast examination, abdominal examination, inspection of the vulva, vaginal touch and pelvic examination with a speculum. The latter is essential for the insertion and removal of intrauterine devices (IUDs), for the diagnosis and screening of pathologies that may cause pelvic symptoms, for assessment of the vaginal wall and for regular screening for cervical cancer. The gynaecological examination is feared by many women because of the feeling of exposure, vulnerability and loss of control. The parallel with a sexual position is particularly disturbing for patients who do not want to see this representation mixed with a medical necessity, which can lead some women to have irregular or even discontinued follow-up. For the past ten years, medical practice theses and midwifery dissertations have evaluated the interest of another position for the pelvic examination with the speculum : the lateral decubitus position in which the patient lies on her side. The lateral decubitus pelvic examination seems to be an alternative for comfort and respect for modesty, which is favoured by the patients. This examination position would have advantages in situations of anterior anatomical position of the position of the cervix, prolapse, severe obesity, hip pathology or significant reluctance to the examination. The effectiveness of this technique in terms of examination performance needs to be evaluated to promote its dissemination. The impact of an examination that is better experienced by patients is that of better adherence and therefore better follow-up, which is the particular challenge of primary care. Single group: gynaecological examination in lateral decubitus, conventional repositioning if unsuccessful

Efficacy and Tolerance of Honey-impregnated Dressings in the Local Management of Pressure Ulcers...
Pressure UlcerThe main objective of this study is to document the effectiveness of a honey-based medical device (Hyalumel) in the management of pressure ulcers. The effectiveness of the medical device will be judged according to the evolution of the surface of the wound at the end of 12 weeks of treatment.

Pressure UlcerPressure InjuryThis is a systematic random sampling study of the effects of the Dabir Micropressure Overlay on perioperative pressure injuries during cardiac surgery.
Efficacy of Wound Dressings With Copper Oxide
Pressure UlcerDiabetic Foot UlcerThirty patients of 18-85 years of age, with 2-30 cm2 pressure ulcers or post-op wounds, will be recruited and treated with either wound dressing containing silver or wound dressings containing copper oxide microparticles. The efficacy of the two types of dressings in reducing the size and improving the condition of the wounds will be compared.
Negative Pressure Wound Therapy for the Treatment of Chronic Pressure Wounds
Skin UlcerPressure UlcerThe purpose of this study is to assess the difference in the percent reduction in wound surface area, without surgery, of chronic pressure ulcers of the pelvic region for Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) compared to the standard dressing. This study is designed to provide evidence regarding NPWT as compared to standard dressing regimens and compare the efficacy, safety, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness.

Effectiveness Study of Santyl Ointment to Treat Pressure Ulcers
Pressure UlcerSoft Tissue Necrosis Lower LimbResearchers at LSUHSC-S hope to learn the effects of the combination of a medication and a device which by themselves are effective for the treatment of wounds. You are being asked to take part in this study because you have a wound on your body which has not responded to standard treatments. The researchers will be studying whether the combination of two treatments will make wounds heal faster. For those in study, the investigators will treat them with a vacuum device on their wound. Also, some of the people in the study will receive a special ointment and researchers will use special tests to determine if the two treatments together are working better than just one treatment alone.
