The Effect of Hot Water Application in Pregnant Women With Restless Legs Syndrome: A Randomised...
Restless Legs SyndromePregnancy RelatedBackgraund and Purpose: The prevalance of restless legs syndrome (RLS) in pregnants varies between 15.4-26.0 percent. As well as pharmacological methods, there are studies reporting that non-pharmacological methods reduce RLS symptoms but the number of studies conducted with pregnants is limited. This study was conducted to determine the effect of hot water application to the legs of pregnants with RLS on their complaints. Materials and methods: The study is a pretest-posttest randomised controlled. Among the pregnants whose IRLS score was more than 11, 13 people to the intervention group and 16 people to the control group were randomised. The data were collected using Personal Information Form, International RLS Study Group Diagnostic Criteria, and the International RLS Rating Scale (IRLS). Hot water application was made of intervention group. The application was made for 20 minutes before bedtime for seven days. No application was made in the control group other than routine care and follow-up. Chi-square test, descriptive statistics and dependent/independent samples t tests were used to assess the data. The value of p<0.05 was accepted as significant.

Continuing Education in Nursing Home Dementia Care
DementiaAgitationThis is a single-blinded controlled cluster-randomized intervention trial recruiting staff from 24 NHs in three counties in the region of Western Norway, randomly selected from the total NH population in the region. A cluster is defined as a working ward of a larger NH, without shared facilities or staff. The 24 NHs are randomized into two groups, for intervention (12) and control (12). One department in each is selected for intervention and data collection will take place also in one department in each of the NHs in the control group. Hence the analyzed units (clusters) are NH departments. The educational intervention (EI), Relation Related Care (RRC), consists of a two-day seminar and one hour monthly guidance for six months. A seven-month educational intervention will be performed, and due to ethical issues the control group will receive the same intervention after the second follow-up. Effects will be measured on resident and care staff level at baseline before randomization, after the intervention (7 months) and at follow-up (7 months later) of the intervention group.
Safety Study of Dexmedetomidine in Septic Patients
SepsisAgitationSeptic patients in Intensive Care Unit always need mechanical ventilation and conscious-sedation. But the recommended dose 0.2-0.7μg/kg/h could not run well because of wide range. The purpose of this study is to find the effective dose of dexmedetomidine adult septic patients of mechanical ventilation .

Olanzapine Versus Midazolam for Agitation
Agitation,PsychomotorThe goal of this research investigation is to conduct a prospective observation of the comparative efficacy of midazolam versus olanzapine for the treatment of acute undifferentiated agitation in the emergency department.
Music Therapy is Associated With Decreased Pain and Agitation in Intubated ICU Patients
Music Therapy for Pain and SedationThe study is designed to analyze the use of music therapy to decrease pain and agitation in intubated ICU patients.
The Effectiveness of Acupuncture for Delirium in Critically Ill Patients
Intensive Care Unit DeliriumDelirium1 moreIntroduction: Intensive care unit (ICU) delirium is an acute onset of brain dysfunction, which can affect 25-80% of ICU patients. Delirium is also associated with long term cognition impairment, higher mortality and higher ICU costs. Previous acupuncture studies showed the potential to prevent delirium. This study will examine the ability of acupuncture to treat ICU delirium. Methods: A double-blind randomized control trial will examine the effect of press tack acupuncture vs. press tack placebos. The patients will be randomly divided (1:1) into one of two groups. A total of 80 ICU patient will have to meet the following criteria: age 20-90, APACHE score <30, Intensive Care Delirium Screening Checklist (ICDSC) >4 points (indicates existing delirium), Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale (RASS): +1, +2, +3, +4, -1, -2. Three interventions will be given in each group. The main outcomes will be the delirium days according to the ICDSC.
Preoperative Use of Alprazolam and Hydroxyzine in Anxiety
Agitation on Recovery From SedationPatients will be divided into three groups. Group H patients will be given 100 mg Hydroxyzine orally 1 hour before surgery while group A patients will receive 0.5 mg Alprazolam orally. group P will be placebo group. Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Knowledge Scale (APAIS) anxiety scores will be evaluated and recorded 1 hour before surgery. APAIS score will be evaluated again in the the operation room before surgery started. After base measurements of patients are recorded with standard monitoring, spinal block will be performed with 15 mg Heavy Bupivacaine from the L2-L3 or L3-L4 levels of spinal cord in sting position. When T10 level sensory block and Bromage 0-1 neuromusculer block will be occured , surgery will be started. Heart rate, non-invasive arterial blood pressure and the degree of peripheral O2 saturation will be measured at 5 minutes interval throughout the operation. IOWA anesthesia satisfaction scale will also performed to the patients the day after the surgery.
