Bipolarity - Depression in Children and Adolescent Suicide Attempters: Better Diagnosis to Prevent...
SuicideAttemptedThe purpose of the study is to describe the number of diagnosis of bipolar depression and comorbid suicidal behavior according to the diagnostic criteria of the DSM-5.
Effects of PGS2.0 in Patients With Unexplained RPL
Recurrent Pregnancy LossInfertility1 more50%-60% of the known causes of recurrent pregnancy loss(RPL) are associated with embryonic aneuploidy, such that preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) on embryos acquired by assisted reproductive treatment should improve the rate of pregnancy and live birth in those patients. In dispute though the clinical application of PGS has been, a series of studies show that the new generation of PGS(PGS 2.0), based on blastocyst biopsy followed by whole genome analysis, has significantly improved the clinical outcome of IVF treatment. At present, there is still a need for the evidence of the use of PGS 2.0 in RPL patients, who may benefit from this emerging technology considering the prevalence of genetic abnormalities and the number of transferable embryos in this population. An earlier single center RCT conducted by our IVF center displayed higher implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate and ongoing pregnancy rate calculated by per embryo transfer(ET) cycle in IVF/ICSI+PGS group compared with IVF/ICSI group. This multi-center prospective randomized clinical trial is to provide more data to determine whether the clinical outcomes are significantly improved per treatment cycle such that provide evidence for the application of PGS in RPL patients. Besides, risk factors of PGS outcome are to be analyzed from multi-center data to build a model for prediction of the possible outcomes of PGS and direction of the clinical choice.

The Effect of Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention on Impulsive Control Circuit Among Methamphetamine...
Methamphetamine-dependenceAmphetamine-type stimulants (ATSs) have become the most important medical issue as well as the social problem. Compared with traditional drugs, ATS are highly neurotoxin and can induce cognitive deficit and psychotic symptoms. Due to lack of efficient medical treatment, psychotherapy and behavioral interventions are the main treatment strategies so far. Mindful-based relapse prevention (MBRP) which combined mindfulness with relapse prevention skills, as a novel intervention, has been widely used in prevent craving and relapse among addictions. While the current research of MBRP mechanism focus on emotion regulation circuit, and there was no study to explore the impulsive circuit, which is the important factor that induce the addiction and relapse. However, there was no report about the influence of MBRP on Prefrontal-striatal circuits. Based on the previous results, the proposed study will focus on evaluating the mechanism of MBRP on prefrontal-striatal circuits, neuropsychological tests and functional MRI will be used to investigate the neurobiological mechanism of MBRP on prefrontal-striatal circuits and related impulsive behaviors.
Relapse-Prevention Booklets as an Adjunct to a Tobacco Telephone Helpline("Quitline")
Smoking CessationThe study primary purpose is smoking relapse prevention. This study is a collaboration between researchers who developed the relapse-prevention intervention, at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, and those associated with the "New York State Smokers' Quitline" (NYSSQL), at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.
Reducing Breast Cancer Recurrence With Weight Loss
Breast CancerOverweight1 moreThe purpose of the ENERGY trial is to explore whether two different programs that are focused on weight management, through increased exercise and a healthy diet, are feasible, and have an impact on body weight, quality of life and fatigue. Since obesity among breast cancer survivors is associated with recurrence and other co-morbidities, those will be assessed and their impact calculated. Blood samples will be collected to enable analysis of potential mechanisms and differential response across subgroups.
Post-operative Crohn's Endoscopic Recurrence Study
Crohn's DiseaseThis randomised, controlled study aims to evaluate the impact of endoscopic assessment, and adjustment of therapy, after surgery in patients with Crohn's disease. The primary endpoint is the severity of endoscopic recurrence. In addition, tissue will be collected for microbiological and immunological analysis.
Indoor Artificial Light at Night and the Relapse Risk of Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia RelapseLight PollutionA randomized crossover trial of ALAN intervention was conducted in patients with chronic schizophrenia in Anhui Mental Health Center from August 15 to September 30, 2022. All participants met the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia in the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V). The enrolled patients were in the symptom-stable phase and were regularly prescribed antipsychotics (no change in medication regimen). The diets of all the participants were uniformly supplied during study. Patients with infectious diseases, eye diseases, or gastrointestinal diseases, or who used antibiotics at the time of recruitment, were excluded. The wards of the participants were all located in the same inpatient building. All included wards had the same size, layout, lighting and orientation of doors and windows. In normal conditions, each ward retains a small LED lamp (the same layout in all wards) at night as a source of lighting. The study was divided into two stages. In the first stage, 10 wards were randomly selected as the intervention group (opaque black tape covering part of the light source), and another 10 wards were selected as the control group (no intervention). After a two-week washout interval, the second stage was carried out, with the two groups interchanging interventions. At the end of each intervention, participants completed a structured questionnaire scale to assess the relapse risk of schizophrenia, and then their fecal samples were collected.
FACBC for Recurrent Prostate Cancer
Recurrent Prostate CancerThe investigators will perform a study with 25 patients in whom the investigators have a strong suspicion of prostate cancer that has returned to the body after having an initial treatment. The major goal of the investigation is to see whether anti-[18F] FACBC PET-CT and MRI imaging individually will be useful in the detection of local and extraprostatic recurrence of prostate cancer. Routine blood test will be done on the day of the FACBC scan and one week later as required by the FDA. All patients will undergo biopsy of the prostate as clinically appropriate per standard of care. If either the FACBC or MRI scans indicate cancer recurrence, the subject's cancer site(s) will also be biopsied as clinically appropriate.
Twitter-enabled Mobile Messaging for Smoking Relapse Prevention
SmokingIn Phase I (N=40), we developed a treatment protocol for smoking cessation and relapse prevention that used virtual quit-smoking Twitter groups and Twitter-enabled interactive peer messaging. We tested and refined this protocol using two quit-smoking Twitter groups. In Phase II (N=160), we conducted a two-arm (test vs. control) randomized controlled trial of the treatment protocol created in Phase I. In Phase III (N=80) we ran additional quit-smoking Twitter groups and tested various interventions to increase engagement in the intervention, e.g., peer leaders. This research provided crucial data about the viability and methodology to be used in a larger randomized controlled trial that would directly measure smoking behavior.
