Study of Dietary N-3 Fatty Acids in Patients With Retinitis Pigmentosa and Usher Syndrome
Usher SyndromeRetinitis PigmentosaOBJECTIVES: I. Examine the concentration of docosahexanoic acid (DHA) and other n-3 fatty acids in plasma, erythrocyte, and adipose tissue in patients with various forms of retinitis pigmentosa and Usher syndrome. II. Determine the synthesis and catabolism of DHA from linolenic acid in these patients. III. Determine the synthesis, absorption, and catabolism of DHA under different dietary conditions in these patients.
Observational Natural History Study of Autosomal Dominant Retinitis Pigmentosa (adRP)
Retinitis PigmentosaThe purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of how adRP progresses over time in patients with misfolded rod opsin mutations.
Stem Cells Therapy in Degenerative Diseases of the Retina
Retinal DegenerationRetinitis Pigmentosa2 moreThe purpose of this study is to test the safety and effectiveness of an autologous bone marrow-derived stem/progenitor cells administered intravitreously in the subjects with degenerative diseases of the retina.
Validation of Standardized Test Protocols to Assess the Impact of Visual Pathologies in Daily Life...
Retinitis Pigmentosathe incidence of the disease of retinal degenerations with loss of photoreceptors (related to old age or genetic) on patients' daily lives, is poorly characterize without standardized means of measurement (usually performed with functional vision or reading tasks). self-assessment by a quality of life questionnaire correlated with an assessment of emotional state and direct observation of patients during daily life tasks are the two ways used in a scientific framework to collect data on the difficulties encountered by patients in their daily life. The aim of this project is to determine the behavioral effects of retinitis pigmentosa (RP) by the effects of performance reductions related to adapting to darkness and visual field restriction. Those assessments will be in real conditions but also in virtual reality (VR). This tool can be used to measure a therapeutic benefit for new treatments (like gene therapy, retinal implants, intra vitreous injections …) for visual loss patients.
Safety and Efficacy of Subretinal Transplantation of Clinical Human Embryonic Stem Cell Derived...
Retinitis PigmentosaThis project intends to transplant a clinical level human embryonic stem cells derived retinal pigment epithelium into subretinal space to treat eetinitis pigmentosa(RP) diseases. Through the statistical analysis EDTRS, BCVA, OCT, ERG, Fluorescein angiography, Ophthalmic AB ultrasound changes between before and after the treatment to assess the efficacy and safety 0f RPE transplants to treat RP disease.
The Effects of Cannabis on Visual Functions in Healthy and Retinitis Pigmentosa Patients
Retinitis PigmentosaRetinal Degeneration1 moreMedical Marijuana is used widely, and its effects on the visual system and the function of the retina have not been investigated thoroughly. Some evidence suggests that cannabinoids may be beneficial in certain degenerative diseases of the retina. The purpose of the study is To determine whether cannabis derivatives affect the visual functions in healthy adults To examine the effect of cannabis derivatives on the retina of retinitis pigmentosa patients
PMCF Study for Partial Vision Restoration Using the Subretinal Implant RETINA IMPLANT Alpha AMS...
Retinitis PigmentosaThis study is a post-market clinical follow-up (PMCF) study to monitor the safety, lifetime and efficacy of patients using the CE-certified RETINA IMPLANT Alpha AMS.

Retinitis PigmentosaUsher SyndromesThis study is aimed to characterize Russian population of Retinitis Pigmentosa
Microcurrent Stimulation to Treat Macular Degeneration
Retinal DiseasesStargardt's Disease1 moreMicrocurrent stimulation thereapy improves retinal efficiency and may restore and/or improve retinal function.
Evaluation of Objective Perimetry Using Pupillometer
Retinitis PigmentosaGlaucoma1 moreObjective perimetry can better monitor visual field defects in RP and Glaucoma patients than conventional subjective perimetry. The PLR ( Pupil Light Reflex ) of the short and long wave ratio should be significantly higher in areas of visual field defects in RP and Glaucoma patients.
