Grass Sensitisation and Allergic Rhinitis in Thai Patients

Allergy to Grass PollenAllergic Rhinitis Due to Weed Pollens

Allergic rhinitis patients are the patients who have nasal symptoms when triggered by indoor or outdoor allergens. Outdoor allergen can be divided into grass, tree, or weed. The type of grass or weed are different in various part of the world. The allergens from grass and weed has never been studied in Thailand. This study will find the major allergen from Bermuda grass, Johnson grass, Para grass, sedge, and ragweed, which are very common in Thailand. In addition, the investigators will study about the cross-reactivity among these group of allergen.

Assessing Risk of Food Insecurity Within Households of Children With Food Allergy

Food AllergyAsthma3 more

Our central hypothesis is that dietary limitations introduced by food allergy will contribute to increased food insecurity in households with food allergic children when compared to food insecure households without food allergic children.

Is There a Comorbidity Between Migraine and Allergic Rhinitis?

MigraineAllergic Rhinitis

The researchers investigated the relationship between migraine and allergy. For this purpose, the researchers designed a controlled study to evaluate nasal symptoms and signs; and to perform Specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) measurements in migraine patients and healthy subjects. According to these results the prevalence of allergic rhinitis in migraine group was planned to be compared to that of the healthy controls, statistically.

Biomarkers in Nasal Samples of Seasonal Allergic Rhinitics

Seasonal Allergic RhinitisRhinovirus

The purpose of this study is to analyze nasal samples for the presence of biomarkers of allergic inflammation as well as cold and flu infections, and compare these samples both in and out of an individual's active allergy season. 40 subjects who suffer from seasonal allergies will be recruited and seen both in and out of allergy season, and 10 healthy controls. Nasal epithelial lining fluid (NELF,) collected by placing small filter papers into the nostrils, blood for analysis and a cold/flu swab will be collected at each study visit.

Sensitivity and Specificity of Nasal Provocation Test in Allergic Rhinitis to House Dust Mites

Allergic Rhinitis

The diagnosis of allergic rhinitis to dust mites is difficult and based on three elements : suggestive symptoms of clinical sensitization to dust mites (rhinitis), the existence of an IgE sensitization defined by skin tests and / or specific IgE positive to mite and finally the presence of mite allergens in the environment where the patient is symptomatic. Unfortunately, the link between symptoms and exposure to dust mites is rarely found and according to in the literature, 30% of rhinitis sensitized to house dust mites did not react during a conventional nasal provocation test (TPNC) to dust mites. Thus, TPNC to dust mite has an interest in the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis to dust mites when there remains a doubt due to the poly sensitization of the patient, or the lack of specific symptoms and / or the variability of the allergic symptoms during the year. However, this test has not been completely validated with a study including a significant number of patients. That's why the investigators plan a prospective single-center comparative open study with the main objective is to determine the sensitivity and specificity of conventional nasal provocation test (TPNC) in 120 patients of 18 to 65 years old with allergic rhinitis sensitized to dust mites and patients with allergic rhinitis not sensitized to dust mites. The investigators secondary objective is to compare the TPNC a faster TPN-called "minute" (60 minutes) and which allow a wider use. If the investigators demonstrate the validity of TPN then it would become the gold standard needed to decide on a desensitisation to mites.

Influence of Specific Immunotherapy With Pollinex Quattro (Tree-/Grass Pollen) on Allergen-specific...

RhinitisAllergic4 more

Primary goal of this non-interventional study is to evaluate the change in level of allergen-specific IgE (EAST class) after allergen-specific immunotherapy with Pollinex Quattro with tree and/or grass pollen extracts and their mixtures under medial routine at adults with tree- and/or grass-medicated pollinosis.

Component Resolved Diagnostics (CRD) and mHealth for Pollen Allergy In Southern Europe.

Allergic Rhinitis

Pollen allergic rhinitis is a very common condition whose symptomatic treatment is not always sufficient or satisfactory. The indication for allergic immunotherapy (IT) therefore often arises. The indication is based on the interrogation of the patient (chronology and severity of symptoms) and skin tests. But the interrogation, necessarily retrospective, brings often vague information and skin tests can be positive for allergens that have no clinical role (cross allergies). The objective of the project is to help the clinician in the indication of the IT, on the one hand by setting up a prospective and computerized collection of symptoms by a computer logbook accessible by the mobile phone of the patient. on the other hand by performing on the patient's serum a molecular diagnosis allow the identification of the major allergens to which the patient is sensitized. The same study will be conducted in 7 centers in southern European countries in patients aged 10 to 60 years with pollinosis. The examinations added by the research will take place during two routine visits: during a first visit, these patients will answer a standardized questionnaire, have a battery of allergological skin tests and a blood sample for molecular diagnosis. An application will then be loaded on their mobile phone and they will record their symptoms and medication during the pollen season. During a second visit, at the end of the pollen season, the allergist, in view of the data collected in the electronic notebook and the results of the molecular diagnosis will be able to prescribe a possible IT.
