Interaction Effect of Asthma and Aeroallergen Category on the Psychological Status in Allergic Rhinitis...
HypersensitivityPsychologic Factors in Physical Conditions Classified Elsewhere2 moreAllergic rhinitis (AR) and asthma are considered as "one airway, one disease". Although there is increasing evidence for an association between allergy and depression, it remains unknown if the relationship between AR and asthma has extra influence on the psychological status of the patients. The aim of our study was to investigate the influence pattern of asthma on the psychological status in AR patients. The Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) was employed to analyze the psychological status of 524 individuals with AR. Independent sample T-tests, one-way ANOVA and multivariate ANOVA were used for data analyses.
Asthma Phenotypes in the Inner City
AsthmaRhinitisThis is an epidemiologic, multi-center, cross-sectional study to define the phenotypic characteristics of Difficult-to-Treat asthma, among children between the ages of 6 to 17 years, receiving one year of guidelines-based therapy for asthma and rhinitis/rhinosinusitis.
RGB(Red- Green-Blue) Measurement of the Nasal Mucosal Image
Allergic RhinitisThe aim of this study was to evaluate the color values of the nasal mucosa, which is easily assessable by a direct, non-invasive, objective photographic measurement, for the purpose of presenting a diagnostic objective parameter of allergic rhinitis (AR). All patients and controls were examined by the same 4 mm 0⁰endoscope and light source, and all endoscopic photographs of the septum and both inferior turbinates were taken. Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 program was used to measure the numerical values of the red-green-blue (RGB) color components in endoscopic photographs of the nasal mucosa on the septum and inferior turbinates.

A Study to Learn What Participants Think of Treatment With Betamethasone Plus Loratadine to Treat...
RhinitisAllergicAcute allergic rhinitis is a common allergic reaction to things like pollen or dust. It causes inflammation inside the nose, resulting in symptoms similar to the common cold. Allergic rhinitis is also known as hay fever. In this study, the researchers want to learn what participants think of betamethasone plus loratadine as a treatment for their acute allergic rhinitis. These participants will have used betamethasone plus loratadine as a treatment for their acute allergic rhinitis within the past two months. During the study, participants will complete an online questionnaire about their experience with betamethasone plus loratadine.
A Comparison of Patients on AVAMYS ® Versus NASONEX (A Trade Mark of Schering Corporation) and FLIXONASE...
RhinitisAllergic1 morePrevious publications have indicated that Allergic Rhinitis (AR) patients suffering from both ocular and nasal symptoms have a greater burden of illness and lower quality of life than patients suffering from nasal symptoms alone. Fluticasone furoate (FF) acts against both nasal and ocular symptoms. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the differences in symptom control (both perceptually and objectively) and resource use for patients with current seasonal AR.

Oral Bacteria and Allergic Disease in Children
AsthmaRhinitis3 moreThis study will see if bacteria differ between children who have allergies or asthma and children who do not have allergies or asthma. Previous research suggests that some bacteria may protect against allergies and asthma. This study may provide more information on why some children develop allergies and asthma. Patients at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry who are between 6 and 11 years of age may be eligible for this study. Parents of participating children complete a questionnaire about the child and the child's health. The child provides a saliva sample by chewing a small piece of wax and spitting in a cup. The saliva sample is analyzed in the laboratory for bacteria, yeast and antibodies (substances the body produces to fight germs). ...
