Effects of Mulligan's Technique in Subjects With Shoulder Impingement Syndrome
Shoulder Impingement SyndromeParticipants will be initially assessed for their suitability for inclusion in the study and will undergo a physical screening of the affected shoulder and cervical spine by an experienced physiotherapist. After, participants will be attended 72 hours after data recording of the baseline measures (range of motion with a goniometer, pressure pain threshold with a algometer, and peak force with a dynamometer) for four sessions per week with 24 hours of interval between sessions. At each experimental week session, each participant will receive one of the two treatment conditions (MWM or sham) and then will repeats the assessment. In the following week, there will be a crossover condition of each individual and 24 hours after the last treatment session, the examiner will do the last assessment.
Does Early Mobilisation Improve Outcomes After Rotator Cuff Repair?

On the top list of the disorders causing pain and dysfunction of shoulder is rotator cuff tears. The aetiology of rotator cuff tears is multifactorial and is likely to be a combination of age-related degenerative changes and trauma during life. It is present in approximately 25% of individuals in their 60s and 50% of individuals in their 80s and have been shown to start developing during the 40s. To recover functional status of this patients group, surgical repair is often recommended, but for optimal results the rehabilitation is of great importance and must be adequately planned. After surgery a period of movement restriction is followed, however, the optimal time of immobilisation is unknown. As a common practice, patients use a sling for six weeks and avoid any activities with the affected shoulder. This period is important to protect the tendon, allow good healing and to possibly prevent re-tear episodes. Although, the delayed motion may increase the risk of postoperative shoulder stiffness, muscle atrophy and potentially delay improvement of functionality. Based on the available evidence, it is difficult to make a clinical decision for a well-programmed rehabilitation regime and establish the most favourable postoperative time to start it. Moreover, it is not clear if early mobilisation will benefit more severe stages as published studies have methodological flaws that compromises the clinical decision for patients with higher commitments. The question whether early mobilisation application is beneficial is of high importance as the results will not just help improving patients quality of life, but also may reduce costs as further complication may be avoided.
Effectiveness Study of Postoperative Rotator Cuff Repair Rehabilitation
Full Thickness Rotator Cuff TearThere are very few level 1 or level 2 evidence studies that examine postoperative rehabilitation of rotator cuff repair and shoulder arthroplasty. A systematic review of level 1 or level 2 evidence studies was performed (Baumgarten et al., Sports Health, 2009) that found only four studies that examined rotator cuff repair rehabilitation. The current study was performed to determine if there is a significant difference in passive glenohumeral joint range of motion, active glenohumeral joint range of motion, scapular substitution, and subjects measured outcome scores (clinimetrics) in patients who undergo rotator cuff repair when treated postoperatively with pulley exercises compared to Jackins' exercises. Null Hypothesis: There will be no significant difference in passive range of motion, active range of motion, scapular substitution, and subject measured outcomes scores in subjects who undergo rotator cuff repair when treated with pulley exercises compared to Jackins' exercises.

A Comparison of Two Adjunctive Treatments in Arthroscopic Cuff Repair
Rotator Cuff TearThis Clinical Trial is being conducted to study two adjunctive treatments for rotator cuff repair; soft tissue and bone trephination. "Trephination" is a procedure that involves making small perforations either in the torn tendon near its edge, or in the bone that the tendon is repaired to. The rotator cuff is repaired by sewing the tendon down to the bone in the shoulder. Trephination is a new technique that is used in addition to the standard method of repairing the rotator cuff tendon. This study will help to determine whether this technique improves the speed of healing, the strength and the re-tear rate of the repair. You are being asked to take part in this study because you have a tear of the rotator cuff that requires surgical treatment. A total of 90 participants will participate in this study.
