Bevacizumab/Doxorubicin/Radiation for Sarcoma

Sarcoma

The main purpose of this study is to test the safety, tolerability, maximum tolerated dose, and effectiveness of bevacizumab in combination with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Because bevacizumab is not considered standard therapy for sarcomas, it can only be given to subjects with sarcoma who are enrolled in this research study and may only be administered under the direction of doctors who are investigators in this research study. This study is being done because sarcomas can recur after surgical resection (surgery for removal of the tumor), radiation therapy and chemotherapy. This recurrence can occur in the same location as the original tumor or in distant sites such as the lung. Thus better treatments are needed. This research study is a Phase I clinical trial. Phase I clinical trials test the safety of an investigational drug, combination of drugs, or combination of drugs with radiation. Phase I studies also try to define the appropriate dose of the investigational drug to use for further studies. "Investigational" means that the combination of drugs and radiation is still being studied and that research doctors are trying to find out more about it. It also means that the FDA has not approved bevacizumab with doxorubicin and radiation for your type of cancer.

Therapeutic Trial for Patients With Ewing Sarcoma Family of Tumor and Desmoplastic Small Round Cell...

Desmoplastic Small Round Cell TumorEwing Sarcoma of Bone or Soft Tissue2 more

This protocol will study treatment for Ewing sarcoma family of tumors (ESFT) and desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT). Participants with ESFT will be divided into two treatment groups, A or B, based on tumor characteristics. Group A (standard risk) participants have tumor that is not in the pelvis, has not spread to other parts of the body, and are less than 14 years of age. Because previous clinical trials have shown that standard treatment is very effective for children whose tumors have these characteristics, these participants will receive standard treatment. Group B (high risk) participants are 14 years of age or older or have tumor in the pelvis, or the tumor has spread to other parts of the body. Participants with DSRCT in the abdomen and/or pelvis or with tumor that cannot be removed by surgery alone or has spread to other parts of the body will be included in Group B. Participants in this group are considered high risk because there is a greater chance of tumor recurring following standard treatments currently in use. All participants will be followed and evaluated for 10 years following completion of therapy.

Busulfan, Melphalan, Topotecan Hydrochloride, and a Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Patients With...

Solid TumorAdult Central Nervous System Germ Cell Tumor30 more

RATIONALE: Giving high-dose chemotherapy before an autologous stem cell transplant stops the growth of tumor cells by stopping them from dividing or killing them. Giving colony-stimulating factors, such as G-CSF, helps stem cells move from the bone marrow to the blood so they can be collected and stored. Chemotherapy is then given to prepare the bone marrow for the stem cell transplant. The stem cells are then returned to the patient to replace the blood-forming cells that were destroyed by the chemotherapy. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well giving busulfan, melphalan, and topotecan hydrochloride together with a stem cell transplant works in treating patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed solid tumor.

Radiation Therapy to Treat Musculoskeletal Tumors

SarcomaEwing's3 more

Researchers at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are looking for more effective ways to deliver radiation therapy to pediatric tumors of the bone and soft tissues. The goal of the study is to improve local control of musculoskeletal tumors with image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) while minimizing radiation related side effects. IGRT uses computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) images to precisely define tumor location and to carefully plan radiation treatment. This approach allows doctors to deliver highly conformal radiation therapy to the tumor while protecting nearby healthy normal tissues.

A Study of Surufatinib in Combination With Gemcitabine in Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult...

Solid TumorLymphoma4 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of surufatinib, thereby identifying the Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD) and/or Recommended Phase 2 Dose (RP2D) of surufatinib administered in combination with gemcitabine in pediatric patients with recurrent or refractory solid tumors or lymphoma. The study will be conducted in 2 parts.

Soft Tissue Sarcoma

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of the combination of doxorubicin plus the study drug known as olaratumab versus doxorubicin plus placebo in participants with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma.

Hyper-Thermia Enhanced Anti-tumor Efficacy of Trabectedin

Sarcoma

This trial compares trabectedin alone to trabectedin in combination with regional hyperthermia in patients with high-risk soft tissue sarcoma. The study is designed to demonstrate a significant benefit for sarcoma-therapy by adding regional hyperthermia.

Hypofractionated Pre-operative Radiation Therapy for Soft Tissue Sarcomas of the Extremity and Chest-wall...

Soft Tissue Sarcoma

This is a nonrandomized Phase II pilot protocol to determine the feasibility, toxicity and disease control (local control, overall and progression-free survival) using hypofractionated preoperative radiation therapy in patients with primary localized soft tissue sarcomas (STS).

Cabozantinib S-malate in Treating Patients With Relapsed Osteosarcoma or Ewing Sarcoma

Metastatic Ewing SarcomaMetastatic Osteosarcoma8 more

This phase II trial studies how well cabozantinib s-malate works in treating patients with osteosarcoma or Ewing sarcoma that has grown or returned (come back) after a period of improvement. Cabozantinib s-malate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and may also prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow.

Romidepsin in Treating Patients With Lymphoma, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, or Solid Tumors With...

GliomaHematopoietic and Lymphoid Cell Neoplasm48 more

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of romidepsin in treating patients with lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or solid tumors with liver dysfunction. Romidepsin may stop the growth of cancer cells by entering the cancer cells and by blocking the activity of proteins that are important for the cancer's growth and survival.
