Pediatrics HOT COVID-19 Database in NY Tristate
Pediatric CancerImmune System Disorder2 moreNew York City (NYC) has become the epicenter of the worldwide pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). By collecting and summarizing the experience with other major health care providers in the tristate (New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ) and Connecticut (CT)) are, the investigators are uniquely positioned to inform the rest of the country about what to expect and how to manage children and young adults with hematological, oncological or stem cell transplant diagnoses during the pandemic.
Assessment of Lung Inflammation With FDG PET/CT in COVID-19
COVID-19FDG PET/CT1 moreThe aim of the study was to assess the inflammatory status at the presumed peak of the inflammatory phase in non-critically ill patients requiring admission for COVID-19. Patients admitted with COVID-19 from March 27th to May 3rd, 2020 were prospectively enrolled. All patients had an initial chest CT-scan for diagnosis on admission and a second chest CT-scan for follow-up concomitant with a FDG PET/CT between day 6 and day 14 after the onset of symptoms.
Post Intensive Care Syndrome in COVID19 Patients
COVID19Post Intensive Care Unit SyndromeThis project is based in the implementation of a combined monitoring system (technological solutions and medical visits) in survivors of the critical illness due to the infectious disease by COVID-19. The main objective of the project is to characterize the Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) and detect early needs for specific treatment.
Home Usability Study of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Test
COVID-19The primary objective is to determine the usability of the SARS-CoV-2 Specimen Collection Materials for at-home collection and mailing of sample to the testing laboratory.
Famotidine Outpatient COVID-19 Treatment Study
COVID-19A retrospective case series of patients who self-medicated with Famotidine during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The study will collect de-identified patient reported outcome measures of patients with confirmed COVID-19 who self-medicated with Famotidine at any dose during the period of illness. Data will be collected by questionnaire and telephone interview. Inclusion criteria: Age>18; Ability to give written informed consent for study participation; Confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19; Use of Famotidine at any dose during period of COVID-19 illness
Impact of Covid-19 Restrictive Measure on Anxiety, Depression and PTSD for Relatives of ICU Patients...
Covid-19Family Members1 moreTo limit the pandemic Covid-19 infection, the French government imposed a closure of all Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The family's visitations are prohibited during active Covid -19 pandemic in 2020 and in 2021. This restrictive visit policy could result in an increase in symptoms of anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder for relatives of ICU patients. The aim of this study is to compare symptoms of anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress for relatives of ICU patients during Covid period with those during no Covid period (2020 and 2021) with those no Covid period (2022)
Short-term Outcome of Covid-19 Surgical Patients: Case-series of a High-risk Area Community Hospital...
General SurgeryDisease OutbreaksThe investigators retrospectively evaluated all the patients operated in a high-risk community hospital from the first Italian case of Covid-19 (February 21st) to the April 10th (in order to have at least a 30-days follow-up). The investigators selected those patients who had a preoperative or post-operative positive Real Time - Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) for SARS-CoV-2 and the clinical outcome of the participants was evaluated in term of need of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) post-operative recovery, medical and surgical complications, length of hospital stay and death.
Clinical Features of Severe Patients With COVID-19
SARS-CoV2As coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spreads across the world, the intensive care unit (ICU) community must prepare for the challenges associated with this pandemic. Providing an efficient care to the patients of the most severely affected category - intensive care unit (ICU) patients - has become one of the serious problems appearing in the COVID-19 pandemics. A typical patient's clinical portrait in ICU of COVID centers is very similar in different countries, however, the key to improve the treatment results for critically ill patients has not yet been found. Data on predictors of severe course in COVID-19 is limited. Knowledge of predictors of severe course of disease can lead to different selection of therapeutic strategy, determine the group of risk of patients for severe course of disease, and improve outcomes.
The Impact of COVID-19 Outbreak on Trans-population's Health in Italy
Transgender PersonsCoronavirus3 moreDuring the COVID-19 outbreak, it was necessary to remodel the healthcare offer for all categories of subjects in order to minimize unnecessary movements of people while maintaining an adequate level of assistance. This is also true for transgender people, who are periodically requested to come into the clinic for hormonal therapy monitoring and continuation. In our center telemedicine programs dedicated to users have been activated for the remote management of hormone therapy. We use a web-based survey to assess the impact of COVID-19 outbreak on trans-population health and to assess the specific needs of this population in this particular moment.
Remote-by-Default Care in the COVID-19 Pandemic
COVID-1918 month study, funded by ESRC COVID-19 research fund. The aim is to explore and support the rapid shift from face-to-face to remote (telephone and video) conversations in primary care. There are three components: a study of clinical interactions and decision making (micro); four locality-based organisational case studies of new models of care (meso); abd a a study of how digital innovation can support NHS infrastructure and vice versa (macro).
