Sleep studies in ESRD patients have identified increased prevalence of Sleep Apnea. Based on current knowledge, treatment aimed at reducing oxidative stress might improve Sleep Apnea in HD patients. The aim of our study is to investigate the effect of N-acetylsysteine on Sleep Apnea in HD patients.

The purpose of the study is to determine the effect on mood and anxiety symptoms of adding CPAP to the psychiatric treatment of patients with TRD (treatment resistant depression) and associated OSA (obstructive sleep apnea).

Individuals with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) are at high risk for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The effect of long-term nocturnal therapy with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on daytime baroreflex sensitivity (BRS), a predictor of cardiac death, was investigated in OSAS patients.

This study will determine the effect of ventilatory stimulation on obstructive sleep apnea in selected patients with stroke. We will select a subset of patients with stroke in the prior 3 months who are most likely to have ventilatory instability as a cause of the upper airway obstruction as indicated by the absence of obesity, an abnormal hypocapnic apnea threshold and resolution of obstructive apnea during CO2 administration. Following baseline polysomnography, patients will be randomly assigned to acetazolamide (250 mg hs [at bedtime]) versus placebo for 7 days. Polysomnography will be repeated and then subjects will cross-over therapies for another 7 days followed by a final nocturnal polysomnography.

Validation study of a novel sleep Device compared to a traditional sleep study.

Sleep Apnea Syndrome (SAS) is highly prevalent in acute stroke and it is related to worst outcome. We aim to assess if SAS treatment, started immediately after acute ischemic stroke, impacts infarct growing and clinical prognosis.

Ischemic stroke is a kind of common disease with great harm. In acute stage of stroke there is sharply increasing morbidity of sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome. Our suppose that treatment with noninvasive ventilation for patients with acute ischemic stroke should improve the functional prognosis（measuring with 90d modified Rankin score）.

This study will evaluate the pharynx in patients undergoing lateral pharyngoplasty for treatment of obstructive sleep apnea through MRI, before and 6 months after surgery.

Patients with a medical condition known as obstructive sleep apnea may be at increased risk of delirium following surgery. This study loans autotitrating CPAP machines to randomly-selected patients who are at high-risk for obstructive sleep apnea with the goal of preventing post-operative delirium.
