Epigenetics of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Somatoform Disorders in the Course of Psychotherapy...

Psychiatric DisorderSomatoform Disorders1 more

This reported observational clinical study aims at identifying epigenetic markers in a sample of patients undergoing high dose inpatient psychotherapy suffering from a variety of psychiatric/psychosomatic diseases such as somatoform disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety disorders and eating disorders. The exact epigenetic markers that will be traced are yet to define. The investigators believe that Epigenetic patterns found in the group of psychiatric patients show differences from healthy controls Different diagnosis show differences in epigenetic patterns as well Epigenetic patterns correlate to the severity of the psychosocial disorder as measured in interviews or psychometric ratings Epigenetic patterns can change under inpatient high dose psychotherapy Changes correlate to clinical psychometric variables.

Assessment of Somatic Symptom Burden

Somatization Disorder

The Patient Health Questionnaire-15 (PHQ-15) is a frequently used questionnaire to assess somatic symptom burden. The Somatic Symptom Scale China (SSS-CN) was recently developed as a comprehensive self-report instrument in assessing somatic symptom burden, but its assessment value has not yet been widely tested in a nationwide. The study aims to investigate the reliability of the SSS-CN, to validate discriminate validity and factorial validity, and to investigate its utility in patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) based on multi-centers inpatients.

Distribution of Trigger Points in Patient Who Have Myofascial Pain Disorder

Myofascial Pain

Myofascial pain alone covers 45.3% of the diagnosis of TMJ. It is defined as palpation sensitivity and regional muscle pain. Clinically muscle pain connects to myofascial trigger points. These trigger points are hypersensitive points located in a tense band of the skeletal muscle, which can be described, causing provoked or spontaneous pain. They are divided into two as active and latent. Those who cause spontaneous pain are active, and those who provoke pain are considered latent.Spasm in the chewing muscles with myofascial pain reduces the patient's pain threshold and quality of life. Therefore, patients with spasm and TMJ pain in the masticatory muscles should be examined for head and neck muscles, the presence of myofascial trigger points should be determined and the head and neck muscles should be included in physical therapy. The aim of this study was to determine the presence of myofascial trigger points in patients presenting with pain in the masticatory muscles and TMJ region, and to determine the relationship between the presence of trigger point and the degree of pain.

Interest of Day Hospital Care for Patients With Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome Referred to the Chronic...

Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome

Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic disabling disease. Patients present a variable picture associating pain localized to an articular or peri-articular region, motor and vasomotor disorders and trophic disorders. Its pathophysiology, still poorly understood to this day, results from local inflammatory phenomena complicated by peripheral sensitization and central spinal and cerebral sensitization. The diagnosis is made difficult by the fluctuating nature of the symptoms and the absence of specific complementary examination. The treatment of CRPS is symptomatic and requires multidisciplinary care. CRPS is responsible for an alteration in the patient's quality of life. This pathology has a global impact because it affects not only the biomedical sphere but also the socio-family, professional and psychological spheres. The investigators hypothesize that multidisciplinary intervention in the Day Hospital would improve the quality of life of patients with CRPS. The investigators also think that the passage in Day Hospital would make it possible to improve the pains, the functionality of the affected limb as well as the satisfaction of the patients.
