The Role of Pre-operative and Post-operative Circulating Tumor Cells in Gastric Cancer.

Carcinoma

In resectable gastric cancer participants who received curative surgery, to early and more accurately detect peritoneal carcinomatosis or occult metastasis is important. Also, investigators will look at CTC numbers in different timings after operation, to investigate the possibility of early detection for peritoneal carcinomatosis or occult metastasis. Also, this study will correlate the relationship of CTC and participants' survival.

Prediction of Peritoneal Metastasis for Gastric Cancer Based on Radiomics

Gastric CancerPeritoneal Metastases

Peritoneal metastasis of gastric cancer is difficult to be detected in time, thus delaying treatment. Based on the conventional CT images of gastric cancer, this study plans to develop, improve and validate an intelligent analysis system based on radiomics. By extracting and combining the radiomics features related to peritoneal metastasis of gastric cancer, the intelligent analysis system could predict the risk of peritoneal metastasis, and provide personalized decision suggestions for the treatment of gastric cancer.

Nutrition in Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor

Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor

It is well known that the prevalence of malnutrition or risk of malnutrition in cancer patients is high, as well as its impact on different parameters such as hospitalization, survival or response to certain treatments. In patients with gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) neuroendocrine tumors (NET), due to their heterogeneity and longer survival, it is expected that the prevalence of malnutrition is probably underdiagnosed, as well as the existence of a negative impact on different parameters (quality of life, survival). So far, the studies carried out on nutrition and NET are very scarce and none has been carried out so far in Spain. Before being able to carry out nutritional intervention studies on these patients, it is necessary to know the reality of the nutritional status of patients with NETs in Spain. The main motivation for the NUTRIGETNE study is to evaluate the epidemiological status of nutrition in NETs in the spanish population. In addition to know the epidemiological picture, it is intended to study the nutritional status from different points of view: analytical, clinical, anthropometric, etc. Besides, the study of nutritional status will allow us to closely monitor the patients who have a higher risk of malnutrition and to propose early interventions for those, as well as the impact of their nutritional status on different parameters: survival, hospitalization, quality of life or responses to the treatments. NUTRIGETNE is a cross-sectional, open and multicenter study in which the nutritional status of patients with GEP NET in Spain will be evaluated.

Clinical & Pathological Studies of Upper Gastrointestinal Carcinoma

Stomach CancerGastro-Esophageal(GE) Junction Cancer3 more

Our research of the biology of upper gastrointestinal cancers involves the study of tissue samples and cells from biopsies of persons with gastric or esophageal cancer or blood samples from upper gastrointestinal cancer patients and persons at high inherited risk for these cancers. We hope to learn the role genes and proteins play in the development of gastric and esophageal cancer.

Molecular and Epidemiological Risk Factors in the Development of Gastric Cancer

Gastric Cancer

This protocol is a single-institution feasibility study to identify the molecular and epidemiological risk factors in the development of gastric cancer in high-risk predominantly Hispanic South Texas population. The study is broken down into two main parts: 1) To identify molecular differences in gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) between Non-Hispanics and Hispanics, stratified by age, and in benign, pre-malignant, and malignant gastric lesions; and 2) To identify environmental and clinicopathological factors in Hispanics associated with specific molecular changes linked to the development of GAC.

Screening of Gastric Cancer Via Breath Volatile Organic Compounds by Hybrid Sensing Approach

Gastric CancerAtrophic Gastritis2 more

The study is aimed to determine the potential of volatile marker testing for gastric cancer screening. The study will be addressing the role of confounding factors, including lifestyle factors, diet, smoking as well as addressing the potential role of microbiota in the composition of exhaled volatile markers.

Development of Free DNA Multi-target Methylated PCR for Auxiliary Diagnosis of Gastric Cancer

Stomach Cancer

This was a case control, non-intervention study jointly developed by Fudan University Cancer Hospital and Shanghai Singlera Genomics Company. The enrolled population was screened by gastric surgery, including gastric cancer, precancerous lesions, benign lesions, and healthy control group. 10ml of whole blood of the enrolled subjects was collected for multi-target PCR detection of cfDNA methylation. The objective is to explore the clinical performance of polygene methylation (PCR-fluorescence probe) in the adjunctive diagnosis of gastric cancer, including the sensitivity of detection of various types and stages of gastric cancer, the specificity of detection of healthy controls, precancerous states, precancerous lesions, and the detection interference of other cancers. The diagnostic performance will be compared with CA199, CEA and CA724. The research data will provide a basis for screening targets for the development of detection kits.

Screening for Early Gastric Cancer in Shaanxi Province

Early Gastric Cancer

This study collect the relevant data of local residents over 20 years old in 11 regions of Shaanxi Province, The basic information of the subjects was collected by filling in the questionnaire, and serum helicobacter pylori antibody detection was completed at the same time. The expert group determined the high-risk population of gastric cancer after comprehensive evaluation. All the high-risk population of gastric cancer without contraindications underwent electronic gastroscopy in the designated hospital after signing the informed consent. By collecting and analyzing data, early gastric cancer screening was completed and a new gastric cancer risk assessment model was established to evaluate the prevalence of dyspepsia, gastroesophageal reflux disease and precancerous lesions in the natural population of Shaanxi Province, as well as helicobacter pylori infection, radical treatment and recurrence rate.
