Oxidative Stress In Semen And Male Infertility
AntioxidantsInfertility2 moreThe proposed research aims to study the effects of antioxidant therapy, commonly used in male infertility treatment, on semen analysis. Patients presenting with male infertility, who are found to have abnormal semen analysis shall be recruited to this study. They will be asked to provide a sample of semen for routine semen analysis and advanced semen tests including sperm DNA fragmentation and sORP before starting with antioxidant therapy and after 3-month treatment with antioxidants. After completing the data analysis, we intend to publish the study in high impact perr reviewed journals and present it in international conferences.
Autologous Platelet-rich Plasma to Improve Responsiveness and Embryo Quality in Patients With Poor...
InfertilityThis study was a prospective randomized controlled trial. Patients with POR who were aged <40 years and underwent IVF/ICSI with assisted ovulation induction at our hospital were enrolled in the study. After randomization using Excel (Microsoft Corporation, Albuquerque, NM, USA), these patients were divided into two groups. Group A was the experimental group, wherein ovarian injections of PRP were administered to the patients, and group B was the control group, wherein no ovarian puncture or injection was used in the patients.
Assessment of TetraSOD® Efficacy to Improve Semen Parameters in Men With Idiopathic Infertility...
InfertilityMaleTetraSOD® is a unique marine phytoplankton (Tetraselmis chuii) SOD-rich ingredient that is grown under patent-protected technology exclusively designed by the company Fitoplancton Marino, S.L. (Spain). In a previous pilot trial, the ability of TetraSOD® to improve semen characteristics in idiopathic infertile men after three months of treatment was assessed, revealing significant improvements in almost all of the analyzed parameters. In the present clinical trial, such positive effects will be tested again in a higher number of patients, and additional parameters will be included in order to gain insights into the sperm physiological changes that underpin the improvement in semen quality
Therapeutic Endometrial Biopsy
InfertilityEndometrium2 moreThe aim of this study is to evaluate the potential benefits in implantation, clinical pregnancy and live birth rates by an endometrial biopsy prior to an IVF/ICSI treatment. Including a follow up on possible pregnancy complications and data on children at birth. Further it is planned to aspirate secretions from the uterus and take blood samples during the treatment, which presumably can provide information about the mechanisms underlying the possible effect of the treatment.
Physical Activity and ARTs
InfertilityObesity1 moreObese women experience increased infertility rate and longer time to conception showing lower pregnancy and live-birth rates both in natural and assisted conceptions. Body weight loss improves not only spontaneous pregnancy rates but also those of assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs). Almost all studies refer to body weight loss due to lifestyle intervention programs consisting in hypocaloric diet and increased physical activity, whereas very little is known about the specific effects of physical activity alone on human reproduction. In a previous retrospective study, we demonstrated that physical activity enhances the reproductive performance of obese infertile patients who receive in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles, regardless of body weight loss. The aim of this randomized controlled trial (RCT) will be to evaluate if a structured exercise program improve the effectiveness of ARTs.
Next Generation DNA Sequencing in Patients With Idiopathic Male Infertility
InfertilityHypothesis: To identify new gene mutations that can be related to patients with idiopathic male factor infertility. Primary Objective: To detect possible genetic abnormalities in families with more than one sibling with male infertility. Secondary Objective: To evaluate using next generation DNA sequencing in cases of infertility
Blastocyst Culture Using Time-lapse in Good Prognosis IVF Patients and Elective Single Embryo Transfer...
InfertilityChoosing the best embryo for transfer has become the major challenge in in vitro fertilization (IVF). Morphology alone is obviously not enough and time-lapse incubation has added embryo development kinetics as another selection criterion. This study was designed to select for the top blastocyst to be replaced, while increasing the pregnancy chance, with the local legislation regulating the number of embryos to be transferred and to establish a morphokinetic standard to be used in our clinical setting.
Clomiphene Citrate Plus uFSH Versus Aromatase Inhibitor Plus uFSH in Clomiphene Resistant Infertile...
Polycystic Ovary SyndromeInfertilityPolycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a condition characterized by infertility, infrequent periods and amenorrhea or irregular bleeding plus anovulatory infertility. Clomid is the standard first drug of treatment for ovulation induction. Ovulation and conception will occur in approximately 75 and 30 percent of cases respectively. Cases not ovulating in response to doses of clomid up to 150 mg/day are known as clomid resistant PCOS.
Metformin for the Treatment of Unexplained Oligozspermia
InfertilityInsulin resistance (IR) in men may be the underlying pathogenesis for metabolic abnormalities and chronic hypospermatogenesis similar to women with polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD). Infertile men with unexplained infertility and IR may benefit from treatment with metformin.
Effect of Endometrial Scratching on Assisted Reproduction Outcomes: a Randomized Controlled Trial...
SubfertilityTo examine whether endometrial scratching (or injury) using a Pipelle endometrial sampler, performed on the first seven days of the menstrual cycle, is able to improve pregnancy rates in women who will be submitted to a fresh embryo transfer.
