Prostate CancerThis is a randomized, controlled trial that will test the hypothesis that replication-competent adenovirus-mediated suicide gene therapy in combination with 80 Gy intensity modulated radiotherapy (IRMT)will improve freedom from failure (FFF) relative to 80 Gy IMRT alone in patients with newly-diagnosed prostate cancer with an intermediate-risk profile.

Mobile Mental Health Apps for Suicide Prevention
DepressionAnxiety1 moreAccess to mental health care by essential workers and the unemployed during the COVID19 pandemic has been challenging. Usual access to mental health care is limited by social distancing, and for many now unemployed due to closures of businesses, insurance is insufficient to cover the costs of mental health care. For these individuals who are at risk for suicide (isolation, unemployment, financial crisis plus past suicide attempts, significant mental health challenges), access to care is crucial and many maybe turning to online and accessible interventions, such as mental health apps and other online resources. Indeed, organizations such as the VA have already created free access mobile applications for mental health in anticipation of this need. Using Psyberguide, the investigators will identify the top ten free apps that address mental health issues and conduct a nation-wide evaluation of these apps with participants who are essential workers and unemployed with risk for suicide. Participants will first be surveyed about which strategies they have used to manage mental health issues, what apps and online tools they have used, and what usability challenges they have faced. The investigators will then ask a random sample of participant to engage in a randomized trial of these top-rated apps for 4 weeks. Apps will be rated on usability, acceptability, feasibility and effectiveness. Results from this trial will be quickly disseminated through several avenues: (1) the UWAC website and ALACRITY Centers network; (2) through CREATIV Lab's partnership with Mental Health America; (3) through the UW Center for Suicide Prevention and Recovery (CSPAR) and partnerships with other suicide focused organizations including Forefront, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, that American Association of Suicidology, the Rocky Mountain MIRECC, and the Defense Suicide Prevention Office and (4) through local partnership with King County and WA state contact tracers.

Stress DisordersPost-TraumaticThe present study is a pragmatic clinical trial that will examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) in reducing PTSD symptom severity, depression symptoms, and suicidal thoughts among military personnel and veterans with PTSD when delivered in three different formats: (1)12 sessions delivered once per week in an office/clinic setting; (2) 12 sessions delivered once per day in an office/clinic setting; and (3) 12 sessions delivered once per day in a recreational setting.

Suicidal IdeationSuicide2 moreThis study will examine the feasibility and acceptability of a program designed to conduct safety planning with youth in the juvenile justice system who are at risk for a suicide attempt and/or self-injury and to increase the possibility of them receiving outpatient mental health treatment. After training staff in the intervention, the investigators will pilot test the safety planning intervention and gather information on how well it worked on reducing self-harm, getting families to follow up with referrals for mental health care, and how often they attend treatment.

Bipolar DepressionSuicidal Ideas3 moreNeuroRx is developing NRX-101, a fixed-dose combination oral capsule composed of d-cycloserine (DCS) and lurasidone for the maintenance of remission from Severe Bipolar Depression with Acute Suicidal Ideation (C-SSRS level 4 or 5) or Behavior (ASIB) in following initial stabilization. Patients with Severe Bipolar Depression and ASIB will be recruited in both inpatient and outpatient settings and, following informed consent, will be given an intravenous infusion of ketamine 0.5mg/kg over 40 minutes. Those who exhibit a satisfactory clinical response to ketamine will be randomly allocated to NRX-101 or to lurasidone alone (the comparator group). This study is conducted as a feasibility study for a pivotal phase 2b/3 clinical trial and the primary outcomes for this phase 2 study were blood levels of NRX-101, in order to confirm pharmaco-kinetics with remission from depression, as measured by BISS-derived MADRS and relapse as secondary outcomes.
