Structured Exercise Versus Endovascular Reconstruction in Post Thrombotic Syndrome

Post Thrombotic Syndrome

The goal of this pilot study and randomised control trial is to compare a smartphone-based exercise programme to deep venous stenting in patients with Post Thrombotic Syndrome. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is exercise as effective as stenting in these patients? What type of exercise is useful in these patients? Can exercise be used to improve the results from surgery? Participants will be split into two groups at random. They will complete a smartphone-based exercise programme or have a deep venous stent. They will do the following tests before and after. Exercise testing Calf muscle strength and function tests Ultrasound of the deep veins Quality of life questionnaires Clinical assessment of their disease They will be compared to healthy volunteers in the pilot study. Investigators will compare exercise to stenting to see if it improves symptoms in these patients. The pilot study will help decide how many patients are needed and what exercise tests will be used for the Randomised control trial.

Phase 1/2 Trial of AEF0217 in Participants With Down Syndrome

Down Syndrome

AEF0217-102 clinical trial assesses the safety, tolerability, plasma exposure and preliminary indications of pharmacodynamic activity of AEF0217 in female and male adult participants with Down syndrome between 18 and 35 years old. The trial AEF0217-102 is a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multiple-dose, 4-week phase 1/2 study. After a screening period, the participant will be randomised and will take an oral dose of AEF0217 0.2mg or placebo once a day for 28 days.

The Intervention of Obesity in Children With Prader-Willi Syndrome Using Prebiotics and Probiotics...

Prader-Willi Syndrome

Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare genetic disease, with hyperappetite and severe obesity. At present, there is no effective drugs and interventions to help control the appetite of PWS patients. More and more evidence has shown that gut microbiota is closely related to obesity. Probiotics and prebiotics can improve the structure of gut microbiota, thus improve blood lipid levels and other biochemical indicators of obese people. Therefore, this study intends to explore the effectiveness and safety of probiotics and prebiotics in controlling appetite and weight gain of PWS children.

Hydrodissection Between Normal Saline and a Combination of Triamcinolone Acetonide, Normal Saline,...

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to compare the functional outcome of hydrodissection of the median nerve by normal saline only and a combination of triamcinolone acetonide, lidocaine, and normal saline. The main question it aims to answer are: • What is the outcome comparison of ultrasound-guided hydrodissection between normal saline only and combination of triamcinolone acetonide, normal saline, and lidocaine in mild to moderate carpal tunnel syndrome? Participants diagnosed with mild or moderate CTS will be randomly assigned to two groups and be hydrodissected under ultrasound guidance. Researchers will compare if normal saline gives similar or better functional outcomes than steroids.

Effect of Aerobics on Physical and Mental Health in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic ovary is one of the most common metabolic and endocrine disorders in women of reproductive age group. The Rotterdam criteria are used internationally for its diagnosis. It has been reported that 57% of these women have at least one mental disorder. There is no health without mental health and it is fundamental to the good health and well-being of an individual. Women with PCOS are at risk of a wide range of significant psychological difficulties including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, sexual disorders, low self-esteem, poor body image, and overall low quality of life. In the healthy population, exercise plays a pivotal role in the optimization of mental health, but there is little evidence available to demonstrate its effects on women with PCOS. So, this study has been designed to study the effects of structured aerobics exercise programs on the mental and physical health of women with PCOS.
