Telemedicine in High-Risk Cardiovascular Patients Post-ACS

Cardiovascular DiseasesAcute Coronary Syndrome

This is a non-CTIMP randomised controlled trial looking at the utilisation of telemedicine devices to provide remote, clinically necessary, diagnostic information, without the need for hospital attendance that patients will take home with them following admission to hospital with a heart attack.

Community-acquired PneumoniaAcute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing Two Different Ventilatory Strategies in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Due to Community-acquired Pneumonia. The control strategy will be based on ARDSNet approach. The intervention group will receive a different ventilatory strategy based on positive end-expiratory pressure tailored according to compliance and limited driving pressure.

Additive Anti-inflammatory Action for Aortopathy & Arteriopathy (Thymosin α1) V

Acute Aortic SyndromeAortic Dissectio

Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) are the major causes of death in patients with acute aortic syndrome (AAS). Therefore, the prevention of SIRS and MODS is of great clinical value, and immunomodulatory therapy with thymosin alpha 1 may be beneficial. This study was designed to test the hypothesis that the administration of thymosin alpha 1 during the acute phase of AAS will result in a reduced incidence of SIRS and MODS.

Hemodynamic Management in Women With SHS

Supine Hypotensive Syndrome

Supine hypotensive syndrome often occurs following spinal anesthesia for cesarean delivery. In our study we base the regulation and drug administration both on the regular monitor and on a novel monitor which reflects upon the hemodynamic changes. Our aim is to observe whether the outcome of SHS patients with anesthesia management based on hemodynamic figures differs from those based on experience.

Platelet Sub-study of the Neomindset Trial

Acute Coronary Syndrome

The general purpose of the Neomindset trial is to evaluate the non-inferiority hypothesis for ischemic events and the superiority hypothesis for bleeding events resulting from platelet P2Y12 receptor inhibitors given as monotherapy in comparison with conventional dual antiplatelet therapy in acute coronary syndrome patients treated with percutaneous coronary intervention. The platelet sub-study will be conducted at the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein. This sub-study will recruit randomized patients from the Neomindset trial to evaluate platelet function after at least 30 days of study treatment with either P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy or dual antiplatelet therapy.

Solid Tumors in RASopathies

RASopathyCostello Syndrome2 more

RASopathies are a group of syndromes, caused by variants of genes involved in the regulation of the Ras/MAP/ERK pathway. This intracellular transduction pathway profoundly affects embryogenic development, organogenesis, synaptic plasticity and neuronal growth. RASopathies are characterized by multi-organ involvement, growth delay, premature aging and haemato-oncological manifestations. Based on evidences provided by literature, cancer screening protocols are applied in some individuals affected by RASopathies, even though detailed information about prevalence and molecular pathogenesis of such tumors is still not clearly elucidate.

A Pilot Study to Explore the Use of Skin Biopsy as Diagnostic Tool in Anterior Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment...

Anterior Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment SyndromeNerve Entrapment Syndrome2 more

ACNES is a neuropathic pain condition of the abdominal wall. It is a clinical diagnosis based on patient's history and physical examination. No diagnostic test is available to confirm the diagnosis. This pilot study will determine if skin biopsies can be used as diagnostic test. Two 3mm biopsies will be taken and used to count the small nerve fibres in the skin. The number of small nerve fibres of the painful skin will be compared to non-painful skin. Skin biopsy and small fibre nerve count is already used as diagnostic test in patients with small-fibre neuropathy. The investigators hypothesize that patients with ACNES will have a reduced number of small nerve fibres in the affected skin, compared to the non-affected skin.

A Multicentre French Prospective Study of Children With Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome...

Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES)

Food protein induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES), is a non-IgE mediated food allergy (FA) which seems to expand, and occurring in infancy. This disease is usually unknown by clinicians. In 2017, an international workgroup of American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology published clinical criteria to specify the diagnosis. However, there is a lack of information in literature for describe the evolution and atypical phenotypes. In addition, no prospective French series has been published to date. The aim of the study is to collect clinical features and allergy testing of children who have acute form of FPIES at diagnosis and during evolution during three years
