Transdermal Vagal Stimulation for POTS

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome

Some patients experience high heart rates and symptoms of light-headedness, fatigue, headache during standing despite well maintained blood pressure. These patient are disabled and can't be in upright position for a longer time. The purpose of this study is to test whether electrical stimulation of a nerve through a skin of the ear may improve heart rate response and reduce disabling symptoms.

Accelerated Phase Chronic Myelogenous LeukemiaAdult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission125 more

This randomized phase I trial studies the side effects of vaccine therapy in preventing cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in patients with hematological malignancies undergoing donor stem cell transplant. Vaccines made from a tetanus-CMV peptide or antigen may help the body build an effective immune response and prevent or delay the recurrence of CMV infection in patients undergoing donor stem cell transplant for hematological malignancies.

Advancing Understanding of Transportation Options

This Stage II randomized, controlled, longitudinal trial seeks to assess the acceptability, feasibility, and effects of a driving decision aid use among geriatric patients and providers. This multi-site trial will (1) test the driving decision aid (DDA) in improving decision making and quality (knowledge, decision conflict, values concordance and behavior intent); and (2) determine its effects on specific subpopulations of older drivers (stratified for cognitive function, decisional capacity, and attitudinally readiness for a mobility transition). The overarching hypotheses are that the DDA will help older adults make high-quality decisions, which will mitigate the negative psychosocial impacts of driving reduction, and that optimal DDA use will target certain populations and settings.

Myelodysplastic Syndromes

This Phase II is a multicenter, randomized, two-arm parallel-group, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of MBG453 or placebo added to hypomethylating agents (azacitidine or decitabine) in adult subjects with IPSS-R intermediate, high or very high risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) not eligible for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) or intensive chemotherapy.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

The aim to evaluate whether activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis in PCOS is associated with transient microstructural and metabolic changes in the female hypothalamus using MRI approaches to assess water diffusion and measure proton magnetic resonance spectra.

Short-time Intervention in Post-Covid Syndrome Syndrome (SIPCOV): A Pragmatic Randomised Controlled...

COVID-19

The present study is a 2-arm pragmatic randomised controlled trial (RCT) in which 310 patients who suffer from post-Covid syndrome are randomised to either a short-time outpatient-based rehabilitation program (the intervention) or care as usual in a 1:1 ratio. Assessments will take place immediately before randomisation (T0), after intervention or care as usual (T1), and 6 months after T1 (T2). Patients will be recruited from General Practitioners (GP's) as well as social media and self-referral to the involved institutions.

Local Anesthetic Response in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Healthy Volunteers

Ehlers-Danlos SyndromeAnesthesia1 more

Local anesthetic resistance is commonly reported by patients with EDS. However, there are no objective data on the occurrence of local anesthetic resistance in EDS patients and in healthy volunteers. The investigators propose to collect such objective data on the frequency of drug resistance and whether any problems with local anesthesia are due to initial ineffectiveness or due to its effects dissipating too soon.
