Myelodysplastic SyndromesLeukemia2 more

To analyze the occurrence of transformation from myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) to acute myeloid leukemia (hereinafter referred to as transformation from MDS to AML) in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome with a deletion 5q cytogenetic abnormality (hereinafter referred to as del(5q)MDS) who received Revlimid® 5 mg Capsules (hereinafter referred to as Revlimid) and who are continuing or no longer continuing Revlimid treatment. Planned registration period This period started on the date of initial marketing of Revlimid and will end on the day when the appropriateness of enrollment is assessed for all del(5qMDS) patients in the all-case surveillance. Planned surveillance period This period started on the date of initial marketing of Revlimid and will end 3 years after the last enrolled patient begins receiving Revlimid.

Targeted Literature Review and Subject Interviews in Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome (WAS)

Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome

WAS is a rare primary immune deficiency disease caused by genetic mutation and is more common in males than females. The purpose of this study is to understand experiences of WAS subjects and caregivers to identify important concepts of interest that could be measured in future Phase IIIb trials. This is a qualitative cross-sectional study that will include a sample of approximately, 8 subjects with WAS and 13 caregivers of subjects with a diagnosis of WAS in the United States, United Kingdom and France. A 60 to 90 minute open-ended interview will be conducted over the telephone or video conference that will be audio-recorded for subsequent transcription. The aim of these interviews is to obtain subject and caregiver perspectives on the impact of WAS and its associated treatments on quality of life and experiences of living with WAS.

Impact of Arterial CO2 Tension on Management and Outcome in Patients With Acute Hypoxemic Respirator...

Acute Severe Respiratory FailureAcute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

There appears to be considerable variability in the approach physicians use to manage arterial carbon dioxide tensions, in patients in the early phases [first 48 hours] of ARDS (Acute hypoxemic respiratory failure and). A number of specific concerns exist, particularly the use of greater than needed inspired oxygen concentrations (potentially in 40% patients), and the proportion of hypocapnic patients in our cohort.

Intranasal Oxytocin for Infants With Prader-Willi Syndrome

Prader-Willi Syndrome

The purpose of this study is to compare the change in suck and swallow competency from baseline to morning of day 6 with intranasal oxytocin spray vs placebo in infants/children with Prader-Willi Syndrome who are in nutritional phase 1a. Videofluoroscopic swallow studies will be performed on treatment day 1 and on the day following treatment morning of day 6.

Efficacy of Hydrogen Breath Test in the Patients With Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable bowel syndrome is characterized by abdominal discomfort and bowel habit change. It is increasing worldwide. But the pathophysiology of the irritable bowel syndrome is not proven. So, the treatment's target is the relief of the symptoms. Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth considered as the cause of the irritable bowel syndrome. Because, it is related to the postprandial abdominal discomfort and the abdominal discomfort could be relieved after taking antibiotics. There are several diagnostic methods for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. hydrogen breath test is non-invasive method for diagnosis of the small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. But, there is no standardized cut-off value for the hydrogen breath test. So, we want to compare the hydrogen breath test between the irritable bowel syndrome patients and normal people. And then, we want to analyze the efficacy of hydrogen breath test for the diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome.

Sanfilippo Syndrome Type B

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the natural course of disease progression in Mucopolysaccharidosis Type III (MPS IIIB) patients who are untreated to identify potential surrogate endpoints that may be utilized in future treatment trials of MPS IIIB using predefined assessments including standardized clinical, biochemical, neurocognitive, developmental, and imaging measures.

Characterization of Pulmonary Artery Stenoses in Alagille Syndrome - a Medical Record Review

Alagille Syndrome

Patients who have Alagille Syndrome (AGS) also frequently have blockages (or "stenoses") of their pulmonary arteries. Little is known about the degree or variability of these stenoses, or the effect of this disease on the right ventricle (the chamber of the heart which pumps blood to the lungs). This study will first quantify and describe pulmonary artery stenosis in patients with Alagille Syndrome. The study will also assess the effect of these stenoses on the right ventricle. The investigators hope to learn the degree and characteristics of pulmonary artery stenosis in Alagille Syndrome. The investigators also hope to learn the effect of this pulmonary artery stenosis on the right ventricle in patients with Alagille Syndrome. This information is critical in the management of patients with Alagille syndrome, as there is currently no data to guide clinicians on the management of pulmonary artery stenosis. Furthermore, the information from this study may help physicians manage pulmonary artery stenosis in other patients as well.

Assessment of Vascular Endothelial Function in Postural Tachycardia Syndrome

Postural Tachycardia Syndrome

The purpose of this study is to see if people with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) have different levels of certain chemicals in their blood than people who don't have POTS. This study will test whether the blood vessels of people with POTS will react differently to certain tests than people without POTS. The hypothesis of the study is: Patients with POTS will have vascular endothelial dysfunction compared with control subjects.
