Intestinal Microbiota Survey of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is kind of disease with unclear etiology. Recent studies on intestinal microbiota have raised the possibility that dysbiosis of intestinal microbiota maybe a novel theory for the development of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Hence, the investigators will compare the intestinal microbiota composition and diversity in PCOS with age, BMI-matched control and then assess whether intestinal microbiota modification is associated with clinical and biological parameters.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome After Oropharyngeal Cancer Treatment

Obstructive Sleep Apnea SyndromeOropharyngeal Cancer

The level of knowledge about the consequences of oropharyngeal cancer treatment on sleep quality remains poor. Because of a high level of risk of developing an Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS), an accurate evaluation of the prevalence, of the risk factors and of the impact on quality of life is important in order to propose preventive and therapeutic solutions to these patients.

New Genes Involved in Molecular Etiology of Rett Syndrome Through DNA Microarray Comparative Genomic...

Rett Syndrome

Rett syndrome (RTT) is a genetic encephalopathy and the typical form is caused by mutations in the gene MECP2. It is a genetically heterogeneous pathology. CDKL5 and FOXG1 have been recently discovered being involved in other forms of RTT. However, at least 5% of typical forms and more other atypical forms are not linked to any of 3 genes known to be involved in the disease. The purpose of this study is to identify new genes involved in molecular etiology of typical and atypical forms of RTT.

Telemedical vs. Conventional Prehospital Care in Acute Coronary Syndromes

Acute Coronary Syndrome

Telemedically supported paramedic care of acute coronary syndromes was compared to a historical control period of solely conventional on-scene physician care. Quality outcomes based on current guidelines were researched als well as time requirements in both groups.

Sjogren's SyndromeDigestive System Abnormalities

the investigators propose to carry out a prospective study consisting of a systematic research of digestive symptoms in patients with SGSp with the validated Global symptom score (GSS) questionnaire, which allowed to grades severity of 10 digestive symptoms (absent, mild, moderate, or severe), asthenia and fever.

One-hour Troponin in a Low-prevalence Population of Acute Coronary Syndrome

Non-ST Elevation Myocardial InfarctionAcute Coronary Syndrome3 more

This study aims to evaluate if the 1-hour rule-in/rule-out algorithm for a high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) is safe and effective for use in the primary care where the patients have a lower pretest probability of an acute myocardial infarction (MI). During this study troponins will be collected at 0-, 1- and 4/6-hours, where absolute changes in the values will decide whether the patient need hospitalization or not.

OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY ADVERSELY AFFECT IVF OUTCOMES IN WOMEN WITH PCOS

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome IVF

The effect of overweight and obesity on IVF outcomes is still questionable. The purpose of this study was to determine if overweight/obesity in women with PCOS were associated with an adverse IVF outcome compared to those with normal weight. Design: Retrospective cohort study.

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

Ehlers-Danlos SyndromeObstructive Sleep Apnea

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of inherited connective tissue disorders characterized by joint hypermobility, skin hyperextensibility, and tissue fragility. EDS features such as genetically related cartilage defects, craniofacial abnormalities and increased pharyngeal collapsibility have been proposed to cause obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). There is evidence from studies based on questionnaires that EDS patients might be more frequently affected by OSA and sleep disturbances than the general population. However, the actual prevalence of OSA in patients with EDS is unknown. Aortic root dilation and dissection are common complications of EDS and little is known about the underlying risk factors. Preliminary evidence suggests a link with OSA but this has not yet been investigated. The primary objective of this study is to assess the prevalence of OSA in EDS-patients (100) compared to a matched control group (100). The secondary objective of this pioneer study is to assess whether there is a relationship between OSA severity and aortic diame-ter/craniofacial abnormalities in EDS patients.
