The primary aim of this study is to research the effect of intubation without muscle relaxant on post-operative recovery conditions in patients with OSAS (obstructive sleep apnea syndrome). Our secondary aim is to research the hemodynamic parameters in intraoperative period and complications such as sore throat and laryngospasm voice limitation in the postoperative period.

The aim of this study is to investigate the systemic impact of periodontitis in patients with Metabolic Syndrome, by assessing measures of sub-clinical atherosclerosis and cardiovascular risk, microbial factors and host genetic variants, and to study the possible effect of mediators of inflammation and oxidative stress as links between the two conditions.

ARDS is a critical respiratory disease caused by endogenous and exogenous factors. The mortality of ARDS varies from 30 to 70%. In 2012, a new international diagnostic criterion has been put forward. Yet, its feasibility, reliability and validity need to be tested. Meanwhile, the correlation of different severity and prognosis remains unclear. As so far, the epidemiological information about ARDS in China is lacking. Investigators plan to conduct a multi-center observational study（real-life study） to investigate the risk factors, morbidity, management and prognosis of ARDS in China, in order to facilitate standardization of diagnosis and management of ARDS and provide basic data and idea for further clinical intervention studies.

Women with PCOS and OSA, compared to women with PCOS only, have more severe clinical and biochemical features of PCOS and impaired QoL. This is an observational cross-sectional study in a secondary care PCOS clinic in the WISDEM Centre, University Hospital Coventry. The primary aim of this study is to examine the relationship between OSA and impaired QoL in women with PCOS. Study secondary outcomes are to examine the relationship between OSA and the clinical and biochemical features in women with PCOS.

On day one, two groups of nine patients each will respectively recieve the tree daily meals (breakfast, Lunch and dinner) in a controled clinical setting. Group 1 will recieve a low-salycilate diet, and group 2 a high-salycilate diet. Two hours after each meal, urinary Leucotriene E4, FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC and total nasal resistance will be measured. On day 7, after clearance time, group 1 will recieve high-salycilate diet and group 2 low salycilate diet and the same measurements will be obtained.

The investigators will conduct a prospective study, in which they will determine sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic accuracy of late evening urinary free cortisol concentration/creatinine and hair cortisol in differentiating Cushing's syndrome from Pseudo-Cushing's syndrome.

The primary aim of the current study is to clarify whether serum vitamin D levels [25(OH)D3] have a temporal association with insulin resistance and/or insulin sensitivity in PCOS women versus healthy ones. To achieve this aim, the investigators will conduct a prospective observational study involving obese and lean PCOS women in comparison to obese and lean healthy subjects living in Cairo, Egypt.

The investigators aim to give an overview of Iron overload(IOL) of patients with AA and low and int-1 risk MDS and their sequelae under different chelation treatment. And the investigators also aim to evaluate the relationship of LIC and T2*/R2*.

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) and patent foramen ovale (FOP) are considered as risk factors for stroke. OSAS generates a pressure increase in the right cavity during inspiratory efforts, which increases the number of right-left shunt embolus and therefore the risk of stroke. OSA and FOP are often thought as two separate entities, however, due to their high frequencies, they sometimes coexist and can influence the pathophysiology of each other. More researches are needed in this area to confirm this complex association and its role in triggering stroke.

The aim of this prospective longitudinal study is to compare the quality of life of short bowel patients prior to and on teduglutide treatment with a non-treated patient group in a matched-pair design.
