Ruxolitinib for the Treatment of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome in Patients With COVID-19 Infection...

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2

It is an observational, cohort, retrospective, monocentric, non-profit study. The primary objective is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ruxolitinib in acute respiratory distress syndrome in patients with SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19 with rapid deterioration of respiratory parameters in the last 12 hours.

Tumor Characteristics in Patients With Paraneoplastic Neurological Syndromes (PNS)

CancerParaneoplastic Syndromes3 more

Paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNS) are immune-mediated complications of cancer that can affect any part of the central or peripheral nervous system. PNS occurs at the intersection between immune system and the tumor, where a combination of genetical and environmental factors may play a role. Mechanisms leading to immune tolerance breakdown and autoimmunity in PNS remain largely unknown, and this reflects in an unsatisfactory repertoire of treatments available. Moreover, a better understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying PNS would allow a more precise identification of the modalities that permit PNS patients to have a better oncological prognosis than cancer patient without PNS, with obvious repercussions in clinical oncology. To this effect, an extremely innovative approach involves directly exploring the tumoral tissue of patients suffering from specific PNS via genomic and transcriptomic analysis. The study team hypothesizes that antigen ectopic expression by tumour cells may contribute to the generation of PNS. In the present study, the investigators will analyze the salient features of tumors associated with PNS, namely the histological and immune cells infiltrate characteristics, their transcriptomic profile, and mutational status of involved antigens.

Metabolic Syndrome in Childhood Cancer Survivors

Metabolic Syndrome

The research is devoted to studying the features of the metabolic syndrome in cancer survivors in childhood is supposed to answer the following questions: How can metabolic syndrome be diagnosed in the Russian population of survivors of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas? What are the features of the clinical symptoms of metabolic syndrome in this category of patients? Which genetic mutations are found in cancer survivors of patients with metabolic syndrome; Which of these mutations can be considered as protective or vice versa predisposing to the development of metabolic syndromes? Is the metabolic syndrome associated with an increased frequency of toxic complications of therapy during the intensive stages?

Study of Accurate Diagnosis and Treatment of Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome

Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome

The mutation of STK11 has been regcognized to be the major cause of Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS).The aim of this study was to confirm the mutation rate of gene associated with gastrointestinal malignancies, including STK11, APC,PMS1,et al. Furtherly, the investigators analyze the association of STK11 with gut microbiota.

Evaluation of Prolidase in Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome

Obstructive Sleep-Apnea Syndrome

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a highly prevalent breathing disorder in sleep. We have aimed to evaluate the relationship between OSA and prolidase activity, the oxidative stress index (OSI), total antioxidative capacity (TAC), and total oxidative capacity (TOC) and the relationship between carotid intima media thickness (CIMT).

Feasibility and Impact of a Prehabilitation and Rehabilitation Program for the Continuity of Care...

Rectal CancerLow Anterior Resection Syndrome1 more

Patients with sphincter saving procedures of rectal cancer usually experience intestinal dysfunction, including difficulty emptying the bowel and faecal incontinence, leading to a detriment in the quality of life. A prospective study is proposed to measure de feasibility and the impact of a continuous care programme for the prevention or reduction of intestinal dysfunction disorders. The intervention lies on prehabilitation and rehabilitation with physiotherapy, biofeedback and neuromodulation, is assisted by a telematic information system (APP for the monitoring of education on physiotherapy and surveillance).

Treatment of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, a Long-term Follow-up

Complex Regional Pain SyndromesChronic Pain

Complex regional pain syndrome, CRPS, is an uncommon but often very disabling chronic pain syndrome characterized by, beside pain: sensory disturbances, peripheral autonomic changes and inflammatory features. The diagnosis is subdivided in CRPS type 1 where no nerve injury has been identified, and CRPS type 2 when a major nerve injury has been verified. A combination of exposure in vivo, a form of behaviour therapy where the patient is gradually confronted with avoided movements and activities, and interventions directly targeting a hypothesized cortical reorganisation is an interesting novel approach for treating CRPS. The present study consists of (1) a qualitative interview study with 10-15 subjects that has received this form of treatment, in order to better understand their experience and effects of the treatment, and (2) a case series with long-term follow-up of 3-5 subjects that received the treatment för 5-8 years ago, in order to study the long term effects of the treatment.
