Comparison Between the Lingually Based and the Buccally Based Triangular Flap Design in the Surgical...
ToothImpactedThe primary objective of this study was to compare between the lingually based triangular flap with the buccally based triangular flap in the surgical removal of impacted mandibular third molars.
The Effect of Saline Irrigation at Different Temperatures on Pain, Edema, and Trismus After Impacted...
Impacted Third Molar ToothThird molar surgery is one of the most common procedures in oral surgery and the most common postoperative complications are swelling, pain, and trismus. This study aims to evaluate the postoperative morbidity (pain, swelling, and trismus) in third molar surgery performed using different degrees of cooled and room temperature irrigation solutions.
Effects of the Use of Platelet-rich Fibrin on Bone Regeneration After Impacted Third Molar Surgery...
Fibrin/Therapeutic UseBlood Platelets3 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the bone regeneration after impacted third molar surgery on split mouth design using platelet-rich fibrin.
Effect of Honey and Dexamethason on Extraction Healing
Impacted Third Molar ToothNatural honey and dexamethason will be given before impaction removal then postoperative complications will be evaluated
Evaluation of Preoperative Submucosal Dexamethasone in Third Molar Surgery
Impacted Third Molar ToothThe study composed of sixty patients, each of whom required surgical extraction of a single impacted mandibular third molar under local anaesthesia. The patients were randomly allocated to one of 3 groups of 20 each. The three groups were categorized as Group A (intramuscular dexamethasone), Group B (submucosal dexamethasone) and Group C (control). The objective measurements of facial pain, swelling, and trismus was performed by an independent examiner at baseline (preoperatively), and at days 1, 3, and 7 postoperatively.
Conventional Coronectomy vs Coronectomy in Combination Vital Pulp Treatment Using Calcium Silicate...
Impacted Third Molar ToothThe aim of this study was to compare the conventional coronectomy and the combined coronectomy technique with vital pulp treatment. The primary outcome of the study was to evaluate the success rates of two treatment techniques based on clinical and radiologic observations regarding inferior alveolar nerve injury, root exposure and formation of periapical lesion. The secondary outcome was to evaluate the change in periodontal condition of the second molar adjacent to the operation area, dentin bridge formation and root migration. Between March 2018 and February 2022 eligible patients attended University Hospital for the removal of lower third molar with risk of inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) damage invited to the study. 60 teeth meeting the inclusion criteria in 52 participants were randomized to Test (with BiodentineTM, n=30) and Control (without BiodentineTM, n=30) groups. Neurological injury and post-operative pain were clinically evaluated at 12th months and 1st week, respectively. Root migration, dentin bridge formation and periapical lesion development were evaluated using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) at 12th month. The change in the periodontal status of second molar was evaluated by measurement of pocket depth at 1st, 3rd and 12th months and the distance between base of the bone defect and the marginal crest and cemento-enamel junction and at 6th and 12th months month.
Topical Hydrocortisone for Pain and Edema Control After Third Molar Surgery
Impacted Third Molar ToothThe investigators set out to develop a clinical trial in order to test the topical use of hydrocortisone as a intraoperative irrigant solution. As this route of administration as well as being low cost and not add new steps to the surgical procedure, can contribute to an improved quality of life in the postoperative period of patients undergoing extraction of third molars.
The Effect of Surgical Interventions to Assist Orthodontic Movement of Impacted Maxillary Canines...
Impaction of ToothImpacted canine causes many problems for patients, such as absorption and damages to the adjacent teeth roots, as well as aesthetic problems. Correction of this problem requires a lengthy time. Therefore, many methods have been suggested to accelerate the movement of impacted canines with the help of surgical procedures.
Controlling Post-extraction Complications of Impacted Mandibular Third Molar
Preventing Postextraction ComplicationImpacted mandibular 3rd molar will be extracted in all patients, then patients will be divided, according to material placed in extraction socket into 3 groups: control, hyaluronic acid and honey. Then post extraction complications will be evaluated
Gingival Thickness of Impacted Maxillary Canines
Impacted CaninesOrthodontic Treatment1 moreThis study was conducted to compare the periodontal health of labially and palatally impacted maxillary canines with similar mesio-distal displacement, perpendicular distance, and angulation, and to compare them with the contralateral canines that served as control teeth. Two null hypothesis were tested: (1) there are no differences in attached and keratinized gingival widths and gingival thickness between impacted teeth and controls, and (2) there are no differences in attached and keratinized gingival widths and gingival thickness of labially and palatally impacted canines.
