The purpose of this study is to study the efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) on anaemic and cytopenic haematological disorders including myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), aplastic anaemia (AA), myelofibrosis (MF) and thalassemia intermedia who do not have or did not respond to available treatment options.

This is an extension study designed to assess the safety and durability of platelet count increases with romiplostim treatment of thrombocytopenic patients with immune (Idiopathic) thrombocytopenia purpura. This study is available to pediatric patients who have completed a previous romiplostim ITP study and meet the eligibility criteria of this study.

The purpose of this study is to identify a well-tolerated, effective dose and schedule of AMG 531 for the treatment of Chemotherapy Induced Thrombocytopenia (CIT) in subjects with lymphoma receiving multi-cycle chemotherapy.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Romiplostim (AMG 531) on the incidence of clinically significant thrombocytopenic events (grade 3 or 4 and/or receipt of platelet transfusions) in subjects with low or intermediate risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) receiving hypomethylating agents. It is hypothesized that Romiplostim administration, at the appropriate dose and schedule, will result in reduction in the incidence of clinically significant thrombocytopenic events in low or intermediate risk MDS subjects receiving hypomethylating agents.

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Colony-stimulating factors such as leridistim and filgrastim increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of leridistim with that of filgrastim to reduce side effects in older patients who are receiving cytarabine and daunorubicin for acute myeloid leukemia.

RATIONALE: Cyclosporine may improve low blood counts caused by hematologic cancer. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of cyclosporine in treating patients who have low blood counts caused by hematologic cancer.

This study use a single-center, randomized, open, three-cycle, self-control trial design. It is planning to enroll 15 healthy adult male subjects. Fifteen subjects will randomize into 3 test groups which corresponding to 3 different dosing sequences. Subjects will be giving a single oral dose in per cycle, and there will have three types of breakfast administration after each treatment. Washing period is 10 days during the cycle.

The Data Monitoring Committee (DMC) for study 20060198 recommended that all subjects discontinue treatment of study drug and continue to be followed for long term follow-up. Amgen adopted the DMC recommendation.
