Evaluation of the Accelerated Traction of Impacted Canines in Terms of Speed and Changes in the...
Impacted Tooth With Abnormal PositioningThe time required for orthodontic traction of impacted canines after surgical exposure is a particularly troubling clinical problem because it prolongs the orthodontic treatment duration. During traction process, several complications could result in alveolar bone loss, root resorption of the adjacent teeth, ankylosis, discoloration, loss or vitality and gingival recession. Accordingly, and due to the lack of studies concerned with accelerating the traction movement of the impacted canines, we conducted this study to evaluate the effectiveness of some surgical interventions (corticotomy and Piezocision) in increasing the rate of orthodontic traction movement. We also aimed to evaluate dentoalveolar changes associated with the use of such accelerating procedures compared with the conventional traction method.
Efficacy of Preoperative Administration of Paracetamol-codeine on Pain Following Impacted Mandibular...
To Control Pain After Third Molar SurgeryObjectives: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of preoperative administration of single-dose of paracetamol-codeine, in the relieving of acute post-operative pain after the surgical removal of an impacted mandibular third molar. Materials and Methods: The study cohort consisted of 32 Caucasian outpatients, giving a total of 64 bilateral symmetrical impacted mandibles. Patients were randomized in two experimental groups to receive a preoperative oral dose of paracetamol-codeine (analgesic group) or a placebo (placebo group) at the first and second surgeries. Study participants were asked to record pain intensity scores during the operation and the next 2 days, the time of the first request for rescue analgesic, and the total number of postoperative-supplement paracetamol-codeine tablets.
Effect of CGF on Frequency of Alveolar Osteitis Following Partially Erupted Mandibular Third Molar...
Alveolar OsteitisImpacted ToothThe aim of this prospective study was to assess the effectiveness of concentrated growth factors (CGFs) in preventing the development of alveolar osteitis (AO) after the extraction of partially-erupted mandibular third molars. This study was designed as a randomized controlled clinical trial. In each case, one socket received CGFs and the other served as a control. The predictor variable was the CGFs application and the sides were categorized as 'CGFs' and 'non-CGFs'. The outcome variable was the development of AO during the first postoperative week. Also, demographic variable included age and gender was noted.

Cerumen Impaction of Both EarsThe study evaluates if Remo-Wax ear drops can soften impacted earwax.
Verify if Amelogenins Had Some Benefits in Improving Lower 2nd Molar Periodontal Healing After 3rd...
Attachment LossPeriodontal2 moreBackground: Prevention of periodontal defects after the extraction of lower third molars remains a challenge. Various methods have been proposed in the literature, but there are no studies which evaluated the effectiveness of amelogenins. Methods: A single-blind split-mouth randomized controlled clinical trial (RCT) was performed on 5 patients to verify if amelogenins had some benefits in improving lower second molar periodontal healing after adjacent third molar extraction. A PPD ≥ 8 mm associated with a radiographic bone defect of at least 5 mm were the main inclusion criteria.
Piezo-surgery Technique and Intramuscular Dexamethasone Injection to Reduce Postoperative Pain After...
Impacted Mandibular Third Molar ExtractionThe purpose of my study is to test the effect of using piezosurgery and dexamethasone injection in the surgical extraction of impacted mandibular third molars, on Postoperative Pain.
Effects of a Brief Mindful Parenting Program for Hong Kong Chinese Impacted by Social Unrest
Mental Health IssueA four session mindful parenting workshop is designed to promote parental mental health during the social unrest in 2020. This study is conducted to investigate the outcome of the program. It is a randomised control trial design and will be conducted in five sites in Hong Kong. An estimated 340 parents will be recruited and randomised into an intervention group and a wait-list control group. The primary outcome is parental depression. Secondary outcomes include parental anxiety and post-traumatic stress, negative emotions, family functioning, family conflict and mindful parenting. Exposure to social unrest will be measured and the relationship to mental health and effects of the program will be examined.
Effects of Polyvinylpyrrolidone Iodine on Postoperative Trismus and Swelling During Impacted Third...
Impacted Third Molar ToothThe aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of different concentrations of povidone iodine (PVP-I) on postoperative swelling and trismus when used as a coolant and irrigation solution during the surgical removal of impacted mandibular third molars.
Efficacy of Injectable Vitamin C on Accelerating Canine Movement: A Clinical Study

Piezosurgery and Conventional Rotary Instruments on Third Molar Surgery
Impacted Third Molar ToothThe aim of this study is to compare piezosurgery and conventional surgery in impacted third molar surgery and to determine its effect on postoperative outcomes and quality of life.
