This is a randomized open label trial that evaluates the efficacy of an autologous platelet concentrate (APC) in pre-implantation reconstruction of maxilla. The sinus occlusion will be performed under general anaesthetic. On one side by the usual technique with hipbone transplant, the other side will be restored with APC mixed with autologous bone tissue removed from the surgery site. The side selection will be determined by the randomization.

Clinical Evaluation of Implant-secured Removable Partial Denture

This study aims to compare the therapeutic efficiency of implant-secured removable partial denture (PASI) with the therapeutic efficiency of the metalic standard removable partial denture (PAC) in the treatment of intermediate extended-gap (4 adjacent teeth). The therapeutic efficiency will be assessed by the 5 years-prosthetic success rate.

Missing Tooth

This investigation will be a clinical trial to study the performance of a high strength ceramic material for bridges to replace missing teeth. The ceramic material has been approved by the FDA for patient treatment. A computer technique will be used to make the bridges. The bridges will be cemented using an adhesive resin cement (MultiLink Automix/Ivoclar). The bridges are planned be evaluated for clinical performance at 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and if funding permits, 4 years, and 5 years. The purpose of the study is to measure how well the high strength bridges function over an extended period of time.

Missing Teeth

Background Replacement of two missing adjacent teeth is considered a difficult treatment in implant dentistry and even more challenging if located in the anterior region due to aesthetic demands. As well peri-implant bone contour as soft tissue volume is compromised at start of the treatment and difficult to restore. The question is if this reconstruction will be stable in the longterm. Full-scale evaluation of adjacent implant placement with crown rehabilitation in the aesthetic region with a follow-up of at least 10 years is underreported in this field of implant dentistry. Main research question The aim of this observational study was to analyze peri-implant bone changes, mucosa levels, aesthetic ratings and patient-reported satisfaction with the maxillary aesthetic region following implant placement with crown restoration after a 10-years follow-up period. Design (including population, confounders/outcomes) The study design is an observational study of a group of patients with two missing adjacent teeth in the maxillary aesthetic region which was treated 10 years ago with dental implant placement and an implant-supported restorations. Outcomes: primary outcome is the change in marginal peri-implant bone level 10 years after placing the definitive restoration. Secondary outcome measures will be implant and restoration survival and changes in interproximal peri-implant mucosa, midfacial peri-implant mucosal level , aesthetic outcome assessed by means of an objective index and patients' satisfaction using a questionnaire. • Expected results Stable peri-implant bone levels, stable peri-implant soft tissue levels, high implant and restoration survival rate and satisfied patients.

The objective of this study is to investigate the safety and the function of the collagen Matrix 10808 in humans and to compare it versus the standard therapy, the transplantation of the autologous connective tissue graft. The Collagen Matrix was developed for soft tissue augmentation. It is a three dimensional porous Matrix and consists mainly of Collagen I and III. Study patients must have a single tooth gap with insufficient soft tissue volume after implant placement. Therefore a soft tissue augmentation will be necessary.

This study aims to evaluate the levels of cytokines, chemokines and growth factors in peri-implant sulcular fluid (PISF) during healing and osseointegration at osteotomy sites prepared either with piezosurgery (PS) or drills (D). Fourteen patients having bilateral partial edentulism in the posterior maxilla were enrolled and 38 osteotomies were prepared. Implants were placed with one-stage surgery. Insertion torque, early healing index, probing depth and modified gingival and plaque indices and crestal bone (CB) loss were measured. PISF was collected from 4 sites from each implant at weeks 2, 4, 8, 12 and 24. PISF samples were analysed by a 30-Plex immunoassay. Effect of time and osteotomy method on molecules employed Brunner-Langer method.
