Risk Factors for Pressure Ulcers
Pressure UlcersDevelopment of pressure ulcer (PU) is complex and multifactorial. The association of a constituted PU and of clinical / biological major elements is demonstrated and justifies. Prevention of PU is an important health priority, one that requires clear identification of risk factors.

Predictive Factors of Endoscopic Mucosal Healing in Quiescent Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative ColitisThe purpose of this study is to determine whether fecal calprotectin, fecal immunochemical test, and Rome III criteria for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can predict mucosal healing in patients with quiescent ulcerative colitis (UC).
When Asking the Indication of a Skin Biopsy From a Patient With a Leg Ulcer in Primary Care?
Varicose UlcerLeg UlcerLeg ulcers are frequent. There are no epidemiological studies available in France, but international studies estimate the prevalence between 0.045 and 0.63% of the total population, prevalence increases with age, reaching 5% of patients over 80 years. Extrapolating these prevalences in the French population between 28 000 and 395 000 people are affected in France a leg ulcer. It is a costly disease. In 2001, a French study conducted among 800 physicians, including 85.7% of general practitioners, involving more than 1000 patients with venous ulcers, it was estimated that the total cost of treatment per patient average was 888 32 euros. This is truly a public health problem. Leg ulcers are in 80% of cases of vascular causes (venous, arterial or arteriovenous mixed). However, there are rare causes of ulcers: skin carcinoma, infectious ulcers and vasculitis. These ulcers rare causes require specific treatments that can often heal. To diagnose, to perform a skin biopsy. Thus, the general practitioner must know when to put the indication for biopsy of a leg ulcer.
Digital Holographic Microscopy: Evaluation of Histological Disease Activity in Patients With Ulcerative...
ColitisUlcerative1 moreUlcerative colitis (UC) belongs to the group of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and is characterized by a chronic relapsing disease course. As uncontrolled intestinal inflammation can lead to severe disease complications, treatment of UC has evolved from sole treatment of symptoms up to histological remission which is marked by the absence of histological inflammation. To correctly assess and quantify the degree of histological inflammation in IBD patients remains difficult. Digital holographic microscopy (DHM) is a new imaging technique belonging to quantitative phase contrast imaging. It is based on the detection of optical path-length delays in a stain-free manner, thereby providing a refractive index which directly correlates to tissue density. This study aims to evaluate the role of DHM for quantifying the degree of histological inflammation in endoscopically acquired biopsies of UC patients in a prospective clinical trial. From 28 UC patients, the investigators will obtain endoscopically acquired colonic biopsies. The investigators will assess the degree of inflammation in these biopsies using DHM and in addition to this an experienced histopathologist will determine the degree of inflammation in these biopsies using a histological scoring system (Nancy-Score = goldstandard). Finally, the investigators will directly correlate the results from DHM analysis to the histological analysis using the Nancy-Score.

Hydrogen Sulfide Detoxification and Butyrate Metabolism in Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative ColitisThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the relation between sulphide detoxification and butyrate metabolism at the level of gene expression and enzyme activity in ulcerative colitis patients and healthy controls.
Nerve Decompression for Ulcer Recurrence Avoidance (DURA)
Diabetic Ulcer of Plantar Aspect of Left FootDiabetic Ulcer of Plantar Aspect of Right Foot1 moreAnecdotal reports and scientific literature suggest that the risk of recurrence of diabetic foot ulcers can be minimized by nerve decompression procedures at anatomic sites of nerve pinching and entrapment. Historical risk of 25% annually has been reported to decrease by >80% to under 5% yearly. Since an open wound precedes the large majority (85%) of amputations in diabetes, avoidance of ulcer recurrences is important. This study tests the current academic opinion that nerve decompression will not decrease ulcer recurrence risk. Null hypothesis: nerve decompression will not decrease diabetic foot ulcer recurrence risk.

Ulcerative ColitisCrohn's DiseaseThe purpose of the study is to develop a validated French version of the IBDQ in a cohort of patients suffering from Inflammatory bowel diseases, namely Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
Scintigraphic Evaluation of IPAA Function in Patients With Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative ColitisThe aim of this study is to evaluate scintigraphic methods as objective factors for functional outcome in patients treated with ileal-pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA). The gastrointestinal transit-time and the degree of evacuation are evaluated in relation to the functional outcome.
