Ketamine for the Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder and Depression
DepressionOpioid-use Disorder1 moreThe purpose of the study is to examine whether an investigational medication called ketamine is able to improve treatment outcomes for concurrent opioid addiction and depression when used in conjunction with buprenorphine treatment. Study medications will be delivered twice per week for four weeks. If you are eligible and you decide to enroll in the study, your participation will last approximately 8 weeks, or 2 months.
Study Protocol for a Smartphone Application-based Intervention for Subthreshold Depression
Subthreshold DepressionThe investigators plan to conduct a randomized controlled trial to examine whether a Smartphone-based Intervention improves subthreshold depression symptoms compared to no intervention. The purpose of this pilot randomized controlled trial is to investigate the feasibility of the final randomized controlled trial.
A Trial of AXS-05 in Patients With Major Depressive Disorder
DepressionMajor Depressive DisorderA Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial of AXS-05 in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).
The Effect of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) on Depression in Parkinson's Disease...
Depression in Parkinson's DiseaseThis study aims to assess the therapeutic role of rTMS on parkinson's patients with depression. Patients diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and depression will be recruited. All patients will be admitted and will be allocated randomly into two groups one of which will receive real sessions of high frequency rTMS for left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) for 10 consecutive sessions totally over period of 10 days with repeated booster sessions every month during the period of follow up. The other will receive sham sessions.
Establish a Specific Cohort Database for Depressive Disorders
Depressive DisorderDepression is characterized by high prevalence, high recurrence rate, high disability rate, high suicide rate, and heavy disease burden. However, the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of depression are difficult to meet the clinical needs at present. This study plans to integrate a large sample of hospital clinical data, laboratory examination data, brain imaging, and electrophysiological data, as well as audio-visual data, to establish a database for depressive disorder, and long-term follow-up to form a specific disease cohort. This study will provide a scientific basis for exploring biomarkers related to objective diagnosis and treatment of depression.
Adjunctive Treatment of Major Depression Utilizing Auricular Acupuncture
Major Depressive DisorderThis will be a randomized, single blind study of 6 weeks duration involving the use of auricular acupuncture or sham acupuncture in the adjunctive treatment of depression in college students.
Therapeutic Effectiveness of Exercise Associated to the Pharmacotherapy in Major Depression
Major Depressive DisorderDepression is a disorder that causes major harm to physical health and social life. It induces isolation, reduced physical and work capacity and increasing the risk of death. In contrast, exercise helps to maintain quality of life, also inducing improvement of cognitive functions, stimulation of brain plasticity and resilience, in addition to promoting self-esteem and social interaction. The precise mechanisms by which exercise improves symptoms of depression are not fully clear, but it is probably multifactorial. In this project, the investigators aim to investigate variables that provide additional information about biomarkers involved in the pathophysiology of depression and therapeutic response to exercise. The investigators expect to find changes in biomarkers associated with potential mechanisms of neuroprotection (cytokines, markers of oxidative stress, Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), cortisol) after exercise program and the role in the therapeutics of depression. To evaluate functional assessment indices will be used ergospirometry, a test that determines the respiratory, cardiovascular and metabolic activity. Overall, this project will help to investigate alternative adjunctive treatments for depression and their associated biomarkers with response.
Treating Comorbid Pain and Depression in HIV+ Individuals
HIVDepression1 moreThis study is designed to look at two different programs that may help people who are HIV+ and have pain and depression. The investigators are trying to understand how to help people learn to live better lives even with these chronic illnesses.
A Computerized Intervention for Depression
DepressionThe primary purpose of this study is to examine how much change in depressive symptoms will be observed in persons who use an electronic Problem Solving Treatment (imbPST) compared to a control group at pre-, mid-point, and post-test assessments.
Effects of Early Abuse on Adult Intimate Relationships
Hypoactive Sexual Desire DisorderFemale Sexual Arousal Disorder3 moreThis study is designed to help us better understand the factors that affect the sexual lives of women who have been sexually mistreated during childhood. With this study we hope to learn about factors that may be promising targets for future treatments of sexual problems related to past sexual experiences. The investigators hypothesize that women who have experienced early sexual abuse are more likely to have sexual problems in adulthood than women who were not abuse in childhood.
