Laparoscopic Lateral Mesh Suspension for Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Pelvic Organ ProlapsePelvic Floor ProlapseThis study is aimed to share our clinical experience in an uterine-preserving laparoscopic lateral suspension of apical prolapses with mesh operation after minor modifications in technique. Transperineal ultrasonography and several questionnaires are used for objective and subjective outcomes.
Clinical Outcomes of Transvaginal Mesh Procedures for Cystocele Repair: Comparisons of Uphold and...
Pelvic Organ ProlapseSurgical MeshPelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a major health concern, affecting more than 30% of women. The aim of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes of Uphold system and Perigee system in treating women with cystocele.
Does the Use of Bupivacaine Soaked Vaginal Packing Following Vaginal Surgery Decrease Postoperative...
Pelvic Organ ProlapsePostoperative PainIn current practice, packing in the vagina overnight after vaginal surgery is typically used to prevent post-surgical vaginal bleeding. The vaginal packing is usually coated with either estrogen cream or bupivacaine at the investigators' hospital . There are reports in the literature that show nasal packing soaked with local anesthetic after nasal sinus surgery reduces post-surgical pain. To date, no studies have evaluated local anesthetic soaked vaginal packing after vaginal surgery and if this is associated with a reduction in post-surgical pain scores. The investigators seek to investigate if vaginal packing soaked with a local anesthetic reduces post-operative pain while providing the necessary action of minimizing potential post-surgical bleeding.
The Efficacy of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation on LUTS: One Prospective Study.
Pelvic Organ ProlapseThe study is a prospective study at a single institution. Investigators create strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, selecting 126 patients who undergo the pelvic reconstructive surgery. 63 patients in the intervention group accept 10 times of the transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.
Day Case Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy, a New Management
Pelvic Organ ProlapseFacing the stakes of hospital beds, this study assessed day case variant technic of laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy with or without robotic assistant.
Modified Uterosacral Ligament Suspension in Vaginal Hysterectomy
Modified Extraperitoneal Uterosacral Ligament SuspensionVault Prolapse1 moreIntroduction : The extraperitoneal uterosacral ligament suspension (ULS) can be performed during the removal of the uterus in vaginal hysterectomy to prevent cuff prolapse. In this study, the modified extraperitoneal ULS technique was evaluated in terms of preventing cuff prolapse. Methods / Technique : Forty patients with second and third-stage uterine prolapse who were operated were included in the study. During routine vaginal hysterectomy procedure performed on patients, after sacrouterine ligaments which are the first-bites and uteroovarian and round ligaments which are the last-bites have been sutured and knotted, these ligaments were marked with 4-distinct clemps to make the right and left, upper and lower separation. After vaginal cuff was closed the sutures hanged by the clamps were ligated together, and the cuff tissue was stretched to the apical line.
Predictors of Recovery Expectancy
Pelvic Organ ProlapseSurgeryThe purpose of this study is to identify factors that influence a person's expectations regarding recovery from pelvic organ prolapse surgery. This is important because a person's expectations regarding recovery from surgery help to predict how a person will actually recover. Our hypothesis is that women with multiple roles will have expectations of a longer surgical recovery time after surgery for pelvic organ prolapse after controlling for known predictors of recovery expectancies. Participants will complete a preoperative online survey. Additional online surveys will be send on postoperative days 14 and 42 to measure postdischarge surgical recovery.
Pelvic Floor Disorders Among Sexual Minoritized Women
Sexual Function DisturbancesPelvic Organ Prolapse2 moreThe investigators aim to perform cognitive interviews to assess how pelvic floor disorders impact sexual functioning in women who have sex with women (WSW). As a secondary objective there will be cognitive interviews to assess perceptions of sexual function questionnaires such as Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and Pelvic Organ Prolapse/Urinary Incontinence Sexual Questionnaire-IUGA Revised (PISQ-IR) in WSW.
The Clinical Outcome of TVM or LSC Mesh Suspension for POP
Pelvic Organ ProlapseThe investigators aim to assess the surgical outcomes of transvaginal mesh (TVM) and laparoscopic (LSC) mesh suspension. During the study period, all women with main uterine prolapse stage II or greater defined by the POP quantification staging system receiving TVM or LSC mesh suspension were retrospectively recruited. Clinical evaluations before and 6 months after surgery included pelvic examination, urodynamic study, and a personal interview to evaluate urinary and sexual symptoms using questionnaires.
