Nonabsorbable Versus Absorbable Sutures for Anterior Colporrhaphy
Pelvic Organ ProlapseThe objective of this is to compare surgical outcomes of anterior colporrhaphy using nonabsorbable sutures with anterior colporrhaphy using absorbable sutures.
POPQ Versus Simulated Apical Support as a Guideline for Anterior or Posterior Repair During Vaginal...
Pelvic Organ ProlapseThe objective of the Preoperative Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POPQ) versus Simulated Apical Support as a Guideline for Anterior or Posterior Repair at the Time of Transvaginal Apical Suspension (PREPARE) trial is to compare surgical outcomes of POPQ-based surgery with simulated apical support-based surgery for anterior or posterior vaginal wall prolapse at the time of transvaginal apical suspension.
Vaginal Packing After Laparoscopic Sacrocolpopexy
Vaginal Packing Following Laparoscopic SacrocolpopexyPelvic Organ ProlapseVaginal packing is used routinely following vaginal reconstructive surgery, however, no recommendation regarding vaginal packing after laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy exists. Despite little data to support the practice, purported benefits better positioning and fixation of the mesh, improving incorporation of the mesh by its fixation and reduced blood loss. Patients often complain of discomfort associated with the packing or its removal. The aim of this randomized controlled is to compare the subjective impressions of pain and bother in women undergoing laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy treated with and without packing. The investigators also aim to assess differences in postoperative bacteriuria, urine retention and hemoglobin levels on day 5 after the surgery and surgery outcome and complications at one year after the surgery in those with and without packing.
Pudendal Nerve Block in Vaginal Surgery
Nerve BlockPain5 moreThe objective of this this randomized controlled study is to determine whether a pudendal nerve block at the time of vaginal surgery is associated with improved postoperative pain control and decrease opioid consumption compared to a sham pudendal nerve block in patients undergoing vaginal surgery.
Impact of Level III Support Procedure on Enlarged Genital Hiatus After Minimally Invasive Sacrocolpopexy...
Pelvic Organ ProlapseThis is a randomized controlled surgical trial evaluating the use of a concomitant posterior colporrhaphy and/or perineorrhaphy at the conclusion of minimally invasive sacrocolpopexy to narrow enlarged genital hiatuses in a population of women with pelvic organ prolapse. The study's primary outcome is the proportion of women at 6 months postoperatively who still have an enlarged genital hiatus. An exploratory sub-aim (as of October 2021) of the study is to evaluate the levator hiatal area as compared with the genital hiatus by using preoperative and postoperative transperineal ultrasounds. Subjects will be invited to participate, but is not required for study participation.
Measuring Abdominal Wall Compliance During Gynecologic Laparoscopic Surgery
Pelvic Organ ProlapseTo measure abdominal wall compliance (AWC) during gynaecologic laparoscopy and assess its relation to the pelvic organ prolapse quantification (POP-Q) score of the same individual, and determine a relationship if present.
Restorelle® Y Mesh vs. Vertessa® Lite Y Mesh for Laparoscopic and Robotic-assisted Laparoscopic...
Vaginal Vault ProlapseThis is a randomized clinical trial to compare outcomes between the Restorelle® Y mesh and Vertessa® lite Y mesh for the treatment of vaginal vault prolapse. Hypothesis: Vertessa® lite Y mesh is not inferior to Restorelle® Y mesh for the treatment of vaginal vault prolapse
Evaluating Artisential Laparoscopic Instruments in Gynecologic Surgery
Pelvic Organ ProlapseAbnormal Uterine Bleeding5 moreThis study evaluates the efficacy and safety of Artisential laparoscopic instruments in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
EVeRLAST 2-Year Follow-Up
Pelvic Organ ProlapseThis is a 2-year follow-up study from EVeRLAST which objective was to determine whether expedited resumption of postoperative activity levels is non-inferior to standard activity restrictions with respect to short-term anatomic prolapse outcomes. The preliminary data from the original study suggest expedited instructions are non-inferior. We hypothesize this effect continues at the 2-year postoperative mark and patients continue to have non-inferior outcomes after prolapse surgery when compared to standard postoperative activity restrictions. Participants from the original EVeRLAST will be approached to assess their interest in participating in the 2-year follow up study. We will be collecting objective and subjective data.
Long-term Success Rate of Transvaginal Mesh for the Treatment of Pelvic Organ Prolapse: The Extended...
Pelvic Organ ProlapseThe original RCT trial is designed to compare self-tailored titanium-coated polypropylene mesh procedure with mesh-kit in the treatment of POP stage III-IV in terms of efficacy, safety and cost-effective at 1-year follow-up. This study will follow women in the original RCT study for up to 10 years from the time of the surgery to compare success and complication rates in the two groups. Recruitment into this study is open only to women that already participated in previous RCT, no new treatment interventions will be given. Recruitment into the previous RCT is closed. Women will be strongly encouraged to participate in annual examinations and annual telephone surveys but may participate in only one of these study parts if needed.
